(Temporary president) - 2nd meeting: On 11 dec 1946, with Dr. Rajendra Prasad as the permanent president. Vice president: H.C. Mookherjee and V.T. Krishnamachari. - 3rd meeting: On 13 dec 1946. Objective resolution (Vision of Indian constitution) was proposed by Nehru and it was passed on 22 Jan 1947. - Mountbatten plan(1947): Before Partition: 389 and After partition: 299 members in the constituent assembly. - 8 major committees and 13 minor committees. - NEHRU: Union constitution committee, union power committee, states committee - Prasad: Steering committee, rules of procedure committee - patel: provincial constitution committee, advisory committee on fundamental rights - Drafting committee: Headed by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, father of the Indian constitution.

Madhava rau ( he replaces BL mitter ) 7 T.T. krishnamachari ( he replace DP khaitan) IMPORTANT FACTS - constitution of India was adopted on 26th november 1949 And came into force on 26th january 1950. - Originally = A preamble , 395 articles, 22 parts and 8 schedules,, Currently = A premable , 488 articles, 25 parts and 12 shedules - the process took 2 years , 11 months and 18 days - 11 sessions - 15 women's - constitutional adviser ( legal adviser ) B.N. Rau - pren behari narain raizada was the calligrapher - rupees 64 lakhs - national flag on 22nd july 1947 - national anthem on 24th january 1950 - mambership of the commonwealth in may 1949 - Andhrapradesh = first state formed on the lingustic basis through 7th constitutuinal amendment 1956

Originally, the constitution adopted on November 26, 1949, contained a Preamble, 395 articles in 22 parts and eight schedules. Currently, the number of articles has since increased to 448 due to 104 amendments since its enactment in 1950. Also, the constitution now has 25 parts and 12 schedules.
