At least in minecraft you can build land mark to make it easier... The one I use the most is 3 torches to point to my base/exit of the cave. And when I still get lost, I use coordinates... But yeah, you can't do that in a lot of games and I also get lost all the time. I NEVER should go alone in a forest irl...
