Mit seinem größten Hit, dem "Kufsteinlied", schaffte er einen Evergreen der Volksmusik. Nun ist Franzl Lang gestorben. Der Musiker verstarb bereits am 6. Dezember in einem Münchner Krankenhaus im Alter von 84 Jahren. "Der körperliche Verfall war nicht mehr aufzuhalten", schrieb seine Agentur am Donnerstag in einer Mitteilung. Franzl Lang wuchs in München auf. Schon früh fand er seine Passion in der Musik, als Neunjähriger bekam er ein Akkordeon - sein späteres Markenzeichen. Nach der Schule absolvierte er eine Ausbildung zum Werkzeugmacher, doch seine Leidenschaft blieb die Musik. Der Durchbruch gelang ihm mit dem "Kuckucksjodler", Auftritte im Fernsehen und im Radio, bei denen er sang und jodelte, folgten. Den Höhepunkt seiner Karriere legte Franzl Lang 1968 mit dem "Kufsteinlied" hin, das mit Preisen überhäuft wurde. Es wurde mittlerweile von vielen anderen Künstlern gecovert. Franzl Lang verkaufte mehr als zehn Millionen Tonträger und wurde mit 20 Goldenen und einer Platin-Schallplatte ausgezeichnet. Bis heute zählt er zu den erfolgreichsten Volksmusikern. Mit seiner Frau Johanna war er 56 Jahre verheiratet.

I learned it after about 2 months but I advise you to watch lot's of video's of him and also Ivan Rebroff, he uses the same technic to reach high notes.

I can translate the last song; My Father is an Appenzeller, he eats the cheese with the plate (Appenzeller cheese is very tasty) My brother is a sweet man, he grabs what he can take. (Swiss stereotype of loving money) My sister is a noble lady, she has seven kids but no husband. i think he was sort of yodeling half way, but i was shocked at the bit when the muisc started again and he didn't yodel XD. I can't blame him though, considering that he looks exhausted after every single show! Never fails to impress me . :)

One thing for sure no one will ever be able to imitate Franzl that kind of singing is much to diffcult for this generation of childern they are brought up on pop music what the disc jockey's are told to play over the radio waves that's why most pop singer's can't sing, as we all should know If you rare a child in a chicken coup it will kackly like the chickens.
