There’s a big gap between companies that get and those that don’t. I work in an industry that easily has a turnover of over 100%. At the end of my orientation with my company the manager said the owner will be calling you this week to welcome you aboard. This made no sense to me. I asked how it was possible that he had time. He said 25% of the company has over 20 years seniority… we don’t really go through people. These people are amazing. When my dad died I got a card from the company that I thought was nice. 3 days later we got a hand written letter of condolence from the owner that said a donation was made to charity in dads name. The thing that makes this all so unbelievably to me is the man has over 9,000 employees.

Nurse managers are rewarded with bonuses when nurses go home early. When nurses leave early they don’t accrue enuf vacation or sick time.

Companies need employees not the other way around. Nowadays there are plenty of ways to make money. If I’m going g to work 12-14 hour days and still be broke and get attitude from management. I can be broke working for myself less the bad environment.

I’ve been working and developing for decades. As a Servant Leader, SR Project Manager with a large team with zero turnover since 2018, one thing I do is help managers identify their growth potential and what it will take to achieve the desired destination, then inform them of how quickly or long that may take. Do they need additional education, can they up-skill, are they willing to develop their soft skills. So much of managing a team is developing the team and helping them surpass you.
