Hi Liz, great information about how to collect or harvest the cactus seeds, you know what, I have never tried to collect them except for the opuntia when the fruit we call “tuna” in Mexico dries out and I get lots of seeds and they sprout easily…. I will keep an eye on the cactus flowers this coming summer to harvest seeds …. Thanks for your video ….. greetings from Virginia …. Tere

Oh i love your cacti, I've got an old man cactus like yours. Its over 25yrs old & I know the pain of losing your husband. Stay safe & enjoy your plants. One of my cactus with palm like leaves on top. Trying to find a way to get rid of the bugs on it. Leaving bumps on the body. I've used toothbrush, detergent & some different things. Fingers crossed 🤞 ❤

Take care & I really hope you're asleep & can't hear the ping of my comments atm. Sorry but again Thank you Liz. 😊 💛💚🌵🍃🪴🐜🕷🐛

One of my Haworthia's just grew a flower shoot and so did my baby blue pachyphytum (??). Question 1: When plants grow a flower shoot, does this mean the plant is going into dormancy? Question 2: I want to cross pollinate the 2 plants that have grown flower shoots. I guess I would use a small clean paint brush to cross pollinate them? But then after I cross pollinate them, do I put a plastic bag around the stalks so that when they make seeds, they won't scatter all over the place? (I will look to see if you have a video showing this process.) TY
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK12 күн бұрын
Q1: Not necessarily. When A plant matures, flowering to produce seeds is a natural process. Given the right temperature, it can continue to grow. Q2: After pollination with brush, a fine mesh bag over the flower stalk is the best way to collect seeds and also avoid contamination from other insects that can introduce pollen from different plants. Good luck and Happy pollinating.🥰

🤣 I remember when my son was 2. Every time a kissing scene is about to happen on TV, I would say..."Darling, kissy-kissy." And he would cover his eyes. Thanks for watching and have a great day!🥰
