Is it possible to store clarinervium pollon without the glycerin? What were the silica packets for?
@Cactusinformation5 жыл бұрын
Silica will absorb water till it is satured, so humidity can go down to 0 % in the surrounding air. That is not what you want. I would expect the same applies for clarinervium

@@Cactusinformation I ended up finding some silica and stored it beside the envelope of pollen over night but took it away before adding to the freezer. I didn't have glycerine. But I have the next inflourescence shooting up now and am excited to try this for the first time! Hopefully it works!

When was the silica used and for what purpose?
@Cactusinformation4 жыл бұрын
We do not use, but it is normally used for drying

Thanks ! My tries wend wrong with doing this.. I think that was becouse i dryed the pollen to much ? I thought that de pollen would rot (or distroyd) by 10% humidity. No drying at all ? Greetings
@Cactusinformation5 жыл бұрын
This could well be. Some species allow to dry below 10% but others don't. Also the pollen have to recover before use including increase of humidity
@21egbert215 жыл бұрын
@@Cactusinformation Thanks ! How long is the recovery time you hold on ?
@Cactusinformation5 жыл бұрын
@@21egbert21 At least one hour. High humidity environment will make the pollen to absorb some moisture

How long can pollen be stored in the freezer
@Cactusinformation2 жыл бұрын
That can vary from half a year to several years

The envelopes you are using look perfect for storing pollens. Did you make them yourself?
@Cactusinformation4 жыл бұрын
No not hoemade. They are used for stamps and in the past for salary

If i want to store pollen for later use (long period) i should keep them in a refrigerator or in a freezer? How long will they last?
@Cactusinformation3 жыл бұрын
For periods longer than a couple of months, it is better to use the freezer. In that case the pollen have to be really dry before storing and kept dry. The can last for years. But i am not an expert on all different kind of pollen.

Can possible in rice plant?
@Cactusinformation5 жыл бұрын
Hi Mohammad. Rice must be baked first before use, else it will not work. Once baked i can dry things. It think however that is will just absorb all the humidity (so not a certain balance as with glycerine)

Does this have words cause Captions says something, but I hear no actual speaking throughout?
@8squishyfishy84 жыл бұрын
Wish there was any kind of speech describing what is happening. It gets pretty difficult to just look and try to figure out what you're doing, and go back and forth to watch again if I blink.
@Cactusinformation4 жыл бұрын
Hi Kathryn. There are subtitles. Speech can not be translated in KZbin. Also if someone claims that the background music is theirs (even if that is not true), we have to replace speech/sound together, thereby loosing the speech and have to redo the work
