I have found out that the original Polo Green bottles from 2019 to today come with the aroma that the Polo Vintage had. Do you know if the 2018 ones also have that reformulation? I have a bottle of polo green 2018.

Good review! I've bought many of your recommendations since watching your reviews. I'll have to say that Open by Roger and Gallet is an Underrated Gem!!! I've got one man show, one man show oud and Bogart Signature coming this week. Fragrances these days are mainly cash grab flanker with no depth or composition to them. Classic Fragrances make you smell like a Boss!

The first time I sprayed PCI on the card, I smelled about 60 percent of the original "Polo" hidden behind a citrusy / ambroxany wall. Another KZbin reviewer said something similar. I've owned PCI for a few weeks and no longer pick up much of the original's DNA, but it's still there if you're looking for it. To me it smells like a rich, mossy shaving cream topped with citrus notes that probably need to be toned down. The projection is not huge by any means, but the longevity is definitely well above average, at least when sprayed on clothing. We'll have to disagree on this one, Kellen. I thought this was a brilliant attempt to reimagine masculine fragrances for 2021. I also don't think this is an overly youthful fragrance, but I understand the perspective. Good review, but I honestly thought you'd like this one more than you did. I'm glad you reviewed it!

I went to Macy's and tested this out. I purposely wore Polo Green to compare. I was let down because the "intense" name is a misnomer. Polo Green is much more "intense" than this so-called "intense". I think the sales lady was desperate to sell me a bottle of cologne so she had me try Azzaro Wanted by Night and liked it much more. I never buy from the mall...I just test them out and order online. Honestly, for what your getting price-wise with Polo "Intense" you could walk away with several bottles of much cheaper, much better colognes. Ralph should bring back Polo Crest or Polo Monogram and hit a real home run because those colognes were much better. But, hey that's my two cents! Good review, Kellan. "The biggest letdown" describes my take on this flanker perfectly, so I'm glad it's not just me. It certainly smells nothing like Polo Green, let alone "intense." Fortunately, I was able to secure a vintage bottle of Polo green (Cosmair), which is what I was looking for anyway.

I inspected it carefully (box, labeling, etc.), so I'm confident about its authenticity, but it was probably exposed to a fair amount of outdoor heat. Even so, it smells like what I'd expect, so I think it's okay. I also bought a bottle of vintage Kouros from him, and that stuff smells amazing. (Speaking of Kouros, I saw your post on Basenotes about it, and the Milton-Lloyd clone. The Man Silver is so cheap, I may try it, and conserve my vintage juice. 😊)

I absolutely agree with you Kelan. All new fragrances that have been released are just awful nothing unique or mind blowing. And performance and price is terrible. That’s why ever since I found you I stick to old school powerhouses from the 60s-80s-90s because those are truly ultra masculine, it’ll set you apart from the crowd, they smell amazing, and if worn correctly will get you compliments and make you smell like a God. There are some modern fragrances that are good but even then I’ll always stick to the classics. Great vid as always Kelan 👌👌👌👌👌👌

Sauvage Elixer has a slight classic vibe but definitely NOT Drakkar, Elixer has a ton of nutmeg spices sweetness...it gives a nod to classic fragrances but is fairly modern to my nose. I personally think it's great but get Alexandria Fragrances version.

Gave it a solid wearing (on skin) and despite the opening being quite decent with the original still in there, the drydown was an utter disappointment. Nothing but a metallic ambroxan. And I mean metallic. Like a steel railing in the winter. Still waiting on Issey Miyake's Bois Arctic which I heard is a much better version, but until then, I basically just layer the current Polo with Zara's Vetiver Pamplemousse. Polo + grapefruit. You want a fresher Polo, there you go. 😄

The name is a train wreck. It was rather disappointing to completely remove the pine accord. There are modern frags still pushing the green vibe (I.e. Bottega Ventta Pour Homme, Dunhill Icon).
