Ann Wilson! Very underrated. She's got a voice that cannot be duplicated! When I see someone like Taylor Swift (aka Trailer Sloot) I SO wish I could Hollar, STFU. I heard somewhere long ago that she wrote this song after a conversation with Tom Petty’s wife. Apparently Tom’s wife was telling Stevie how they met, and in her thick southern accent told her it was at the AGE of seventeen. Stevie thought she had said the EDGE of seventeen and loved the line so much she wrote this song. Stevie is a badass. 🫶🤘

The drummer is Russ Kunkel, not Mick Fleetwood. I wore out the VHS of this great concert video back in the day. The musicians Stevie teamed with for this concert were a lot of well-known musicians like Kunkel on drums and Waddy Wachtel on guitar. I think Roy Bittan, Billy Joel's keyboard player, was a part of this as well.

He played on Stevie and Lindsey's album Buckingham/Nicks, which was the album that brought them to Mick Fleetwood's attention. He's also played with James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, the Rolling Stones, Jackson Browne, and many others. Similarly, Russ Kunkel has been a long-time session musician playing with the likes of Bill Withers, Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Mama Cass (he was married to her sister Leah at one point), Carole King, Linda Ronstadt, and Carly Simon, among others. Very well-respected musicians.

1981 - and I was just getting put into voice lessons when my family finally took me seriously and I was winning vocal contests (age 11) - all teachers would ask my favorite singers. They were horrified Stevie Nicks was in my list. LOL. Mostly because she's pretty hard on her voice but the live stuff, I've only recently seen, of her from this period she's just got incredible soul. She was and is an absolute GODDESS. She empowered a LOT of young girls and made a LOT of men fall in love with her. She's 76 and toured recently. My friend worked the show and got to see it, he said it was great. She was upset a few years ago because of the lockdowns because she'd wanted to do one more tour and at her age things can change on a dime. Obviously it was probably her las tour. An absolute legend.

This concert was in the 1980s. Her real name is Stephanie, but as a child, she couldn’t pronounce her name correctly. She said “Stevie” instead of Stephanie.
