@@philly871 that doesn't change my reality. Remember it's not the dog it's the fucking owners. When I was a kid it was Dobermans everybody was supposed to be afraid of. Later on it was Rottweilers. For a while the news had everybody convinced that any raccoon you saw was going to give you rabies. It's really simple, the news needs something to scare you with they can't sue them.

I have a dog that's half boxer and half pitbull. The prejudice is real, holy cow. It's funny because, some people just see him for the giant baby that he is. But, other people, can only see a giant pitbull and, it's sad. Like I get being cautious around a dog you don't know. But, it's an entirely different thing to stand there and grill me about what I'm gonna do when he attacks someone. Like... really? This dog loves every, living thing. He legit tries to befriend spiders and grasshoppers. He carefully steps around puppies and kittens and breaks up every cat fight. The only way my Sully will ever "attack" anything is with his tongue. LoL :P

I love pitbulls. They're great pets, so long as you don't get one that was trained for dog fighting, they're just as friendly as any other dogs. My family had a few of them when I was growing up, about five total (not at the same time though). The were all great, friendly dogs. Actually, one was a massive coward that would rather run from a threat rather than attack, even though he was the largest out of all of them.
@Kiandough2 жыл бұрын
Thing is, they're bred for fighting, and if they snap, they go wild. It's in their DNA, dogs that are bred to herd sheep, will herd your kids even though they were never taught. There's a reason they're the most vicious breed and the statistics show it very clearly. Having the breed and raising it right and doing thing to prevent accidents is fine. Just don't come with that BS that they're just as friendly as other dogs, two thirds of fatal dog attacks are from pitbulls, while only being 20% of all the dogs in the US (US statistics). Vast majority of fatalities being young children.
@MoostachedSaiyanPrince2 жыл бұрын
@@Kiandough "If they snap" is the key phrase there. If raised right, and if nothing gives them reason to attack, then that's no more likely to happen than most other dogs, but the consequences will very likely be worse. Yes, they were bred to fight, and if something triggers that instinct, they're the most dangerous breed and that's the reason for that statistic. But in my experience, smaller dogs have been just as (if not more) vicious and unfriendly than any of the pitbulls I've encountered and/or raised. They're just so small and do so little damage that even though I've been bitten by small dogs over a dozen times unprovoked (usually by the ones my mom has had) none of the instances was in any way threatening or worthy of reporting. And I've never once been bitten by any of the multiple Pitbulls I've had, nor even seen any of them show any signs of aggression outside the one time an unfamiliar dog tried to attack me while I was taking one of them for a walk, and he did that in my defense, putting himself in between me and the other dog. Pitbulls are absolutely the most dangerous breed of dog, I will not contest that, nor will I contest the statistics you pointed out. But in my own experience, if a Pitbull is raised right, it's less likely to attack than a smaller breed of dog in the same situation, but the smaller dog is far less likely to cause any kind of harm. Again, I never said pitbulls aren't dangerous, I said they're friendly, so long as they're raised properly. Which is why when it comes to pitbulls, I would only ever recommend getting one as a puppy and researching how to properly train and discipline it before you adopt it, because they're far more dangerous if you decide to "wing it" when raising them.
@Wienerblutable2 жыл бұрын
They r a nightmare if they get into a fight with another dog (so better a bitch). Regular hunting dogs like mine don’t bite into the flesh, any time it was a bit staff or rotti my dogs had a bite wound, even when it was just a little struggle. Once my dog got attacked from the side from a dogo argentino dragged through the outside cafe throwing 9ver all table (my dog also had 80p) and he didn’t wound him. So it’s really those 3 breeds that make me problems (I have dogs for 50 years so had many encounters)

I'd cross the street to pet a pitbull. Can't blame the breed, it's all about how you raise them. Pitbulls are just the latest dog to have stuff like this done to the breed. Dobermans were a big deal in the 70s and 80s, it's stupid. Dogs are dogs, if they're raised to be mean they will be. Whether it's a pitbull or a Chihuahua, raise em to be mean and they will be. I've been bit more times by ankle biter dogs than big scary pitbulls 😂. Probably one of the more loving breeds in all honesty, they're 120 lb teddy bears. Don't let the media ruin a great dog breed for you, they're no different than any other breed. Look into it tho, the us was big against dobermans and rottweilers, pitbulls are just the latest victims.

Gotta say, I’ve loved everything Bill Burr’s done (that I’ve seen) but I wasn’t crazy abt this one. I don’t like to be a party pooper, and I know it was all jokes, but I much rather him make fun of people, who can defend themselves, as opposed to an animal that can’t. And I can’t say that I hated it but I just didn’t enjoy it so much.

@HelenWheelsUtah2 жыл бұрын
B) You can call it a rescue because in a lot of cases if you didn't take that dog home it would be euthanized. So you are rescuing it from death even though there was very little to risk. Also, there is no such thing as a free pet. You have to feed it and exercise it and when it gets sick you have to take it to the vet. All of my cats were free. One of them is diabetic and needs insulin twice a day. Another is in kidney failure and needs a special diet along with allergy shots once a week. The other one has mental problems stemmingfrom a botched spay surgery. But when I take in a stray, I make a promise to them to care for them as long as they live.
