I'm with you. The first time I saw his standup, I think I was crying through the whole show. Bill is a comedic genius.

Saw him on a trip to NYC at Caroline’s in Times Square in 1998 … and I’ll never forget leaving with my stomach in pain and face swollen from laughing till I cried. I had never laughed that hard and I still have the CD that I purchased at that gig. Came across it a couple months ago as I was moving from Chicago to Atlanta - I’m now curious to listen to it and compare his old stand up with the new. I’m sure he was much more edgy before all the feelings 😭 & cancel-culture BS.

I love to watch Bill Burr with another person who enjoys his comedy like I do. His observations are such a funny reflection of how society behaves, and the absurdity of every day whining. Thanks for playing his comedy.

Bill Burr is comedy gold! So many funny comedians have passed away - and in just a few short years. Norm McDonald, Rodney Dangerfield, Gilbert Gottfried, Buddy Hackett, and Bob Saget come to mind. So we need to celebrate Bill Burr and Dave Chappelle in particluar for giving us such joy in their own unique styles. Polo gets it. That's why I watch his reaction videos!

The call of the void (in French, l'appel du vide) describes this impulse to hurl yourself into, well, a void. While unnerving, it's actually a pretty common experience. It also has nothing to do with suicidal ideation.

You’re right man, total living legend, as was Rodney Dangerfield, but sadly passed now. To have the balls to say on Johnny Carson’s show in like 1970 that it is so hard to be funny when not on drugs! How can you beat something like that in that day and age? ruthless just like Bill and Dave Chapelle, two Living Legends, right there.

You called it man. Bill Burr is very much a legend of comedy, if not media in general. I mean, he was great in The Mandalorian. It just takes a bunch of people saying he's a legend before everyone finally agrees on it. And they have been saying it so, I think it's only a matter of time. :)

Always enjoyable to watch your reactions, Polo. Thanks. When you spoke of high places. My sister has acrophobia, the fear of heights. I live around the Rocky Mountains in Canada. There are amazing lookouts at the edges of some cliffs that'll take your breath away in the sheer magnificence of what your eyes are seeing. She can not and could never in her life get near a steep ledge, whether it's a building or nature. She says she feels like "I may as well jump, I'm going to die anyway if I walk over there." Needless to say, when she visits, I take her over to the local hot springs and the closest town, Jasper Alberta. Being Canadians we may get a little high but it's not because I took her hiking! haha!

“All she has on me is who I am as a person” …. and you don’t think about mental and emotional well-being of your family 24/7 … The best thing you can do is support her in everything she asks if you, it’s usually for the greater good of all of you. And regular acts of affection and care.

Those thoughts you describe are sometimes called “disaster thoughts”. Just for some interesting medical trivia: I have adhd and it can be common with people with adhd because we lack dopamine and norepinephrine, and disaster thoughts can actually give you an adrenaline rush which is similar to norepinephrine and can also increase focus.

I’m sorry-me again. There is a movie from 1973. My Momma said it’s one of the scariest movies made because it could really happen. She said this decades ago. The way the world is now, I think she may be right. The movie is Soylent Green and stars Charlton Heston. If you have a spare hr & 1/2 to watch it…please do so. I won’t give any spoilers but it will be well worth your time and will give you chills to see how plausible it seems for the future now considering…well, everything 🤯

Patrice O'Neal would of been up there if he would of lived. So sad that he died so young before he got the recognition he deserved. He's been called the GOAT by Bill Burr, they did alot of radio and podcast years ago. Some great clips of them two talking shit to each other lol. If you havnt seen his stand up Elephant in the Room or his other shorter 30min ones I would check it out asap.
