My wife Linda 💙👑 of 46 yrs loves this Masterpiece. I'll send it to her now. It will make her day after the last two weeks of health issues etc. Talk about timing. Thank you. Arnold Bourbon Amaral

That was entrancing - quite a different look to the dance than I'm used to,but wonderful. The prima was exceptional - I've never seen anyone invest their work with such vitality, such joie de vivre

Such beautiful music - and the writer wasn't even a bloody composer. Borodin was a research chemistry scientist "by day" with a very well-respected international reputation. He worked in Russia, where in 1862, he was appointed Professor of Chemistry at the Medical Surgical Academy of St Petersburg), as well as the West (chemistry post-doc at the University of Heidelberg 1859-1862). He was also a fully qualified physician, initially working as a military surgeon upon graduation. Apart from excelling in the completely unrelated skills of medicine, chemistry, and musical composition, he gets my respect for championing the educational rights of women in a time and place where no such rights existed. He founded the School of Medicine for Women in St Petersburg. Did I mention that by the time he was thirteen years old, he was a proficient flautist, cellist and pianist, who spoke fluent German, Italian, French, English, and Russian. He viewed his musical achievements in a decidely secondary role behind his successful academic career in chemistry. And Phil (next comment) is correct. I shouldn't be sick with envy - I should just celebrate his musical legacy..

It was a complete Broadway musical "Kismet". Also, the song that was put to some of this music as "No other love have I.." became one of the themes in the series TV series "Victory at Sea" , the music called "Beneath the Southern Cross"
