at 31:05 i think there's some mistake sir....@POL SC HELP ....the votes of B which is 779 have to scenarios 766 votes are of those who chose B as their 1st preference and 13 are those who had chosen C as their 1st preference and B as their 2nd preference , but because C got eliminated so those 13 votes with B as their 2nd preference got added with B. so now when we have to eliminate B because it has least number of votes after C has already been eliminated , we will see who has chosen A & D as their 2nd preference from 766 votes who are original to B , now on that basis votes would be added with A & D , but there would be some people out of those 766 voters who initially would have chosen C as their 2nd preference , so these votes can't be transferred to C because it's been already eliminated , so now those few of 766 voters who had B as their 1st preference , and C as their 2nd preference , so their vote will be shared among A & D , on the basis of 3rd preference . now one more important thing , remember we have 13 votes also, who were not originally preferring B as their 1st preference but, their votes got added with B after C got eliminated . now their votes will be distributed among A & D , on the basis of 3rd preference ., because these 13 voters had chosen C as their 1st preference , B as their 2nd ,.. then obviously their 3rd preference would be either to A or D....hope this helps...😌

@POLSCHELP4 жыл бұрын
in AV, to win candidate need more than 50%, in STV, a fixed no. of votes( called quota); in AV, constituency select one representative, in STV generally constituency are larger with multi member representation; in AV the extra vote, over 50 % go waste; in SYV, the extra vote above the quota are also transferred to other candidate- no vote go waste- proportionality is higher; in STV people may choose candidate of different parties as their representatives; i understand ur confusion...both are very similar...

Very much like STV with only difference that only one candidate is elected instead of many in STV; voters voters rank candidates in order of preference. If any single candidate receives a majority of first-preference votes, that candidate is declared elected. If no candidate gets the majority of 1st preference votes, the last-place candidate is eliminated and that candidate’s second preferences are re-allotted to others and so on until a candidate gets the majority votes. Its variants are supplementary vote( voters only rank first two candidates) and contingent vote system( voters only rank first 3 candidates, and 3rd candidate eliminated and second round with top two candidates)
