If the idea is to fish the indicator with a hook on it why not instead just use a big dry fly like a chubby or something as your indicator? I like the technique for making the indicator, just not sure I understand why putting it on a hook is necessary.

I LIKE BUT ONE HALF HITCH IS AN HALF HITCH ANY MORE HALF HITCHES ARE KNOWN AS CLOVE HITCHES . IE THE KNOWN AS THE KNOT WITCH NOT SLIP OFF A ROUND OBJECT .
