Like in many other games, youve been doing pretty great. Tips you asked for: you can in fact use wood instead of rope, making strings of wood, which are cheaper ropes. Also, archs are good for distributing the load of the whole bridge across the whole length of it, so you can use less supports. Another really useful structure: diamonds - when your piece of wood isnt strong enough, switching it to steel is not the only option you have, create a rombus instead of it, and connect the new joints together (with potentially weaker material since there isnt much load), creatings a new solid connection. Its a little more expensive, but its way stronger than before, and not yet steel. This can be done to any material too. Even to steel itself

You can also use Roads as support. It is a little bit heavier and more expensive than Wood, but still gives rather good strength for it's weight.

Mechanical engineer here again! Loving this series!! The bridge at 15:39 was really similar to some real life bridge design! Great stuff!! Tip 1: When starting a build, if you see any RED connection nodes among the common yellow nodes, use the red as the MOST important anchor points. Tip 2: Comparison is the root of unhappiness. I think your solutions are freakin fantastic, and it’s cool seeing a gamer with no “formal bridge-builder training” take on these challenges and succeed! It’s really great to watch!! Found myself cheering whenever you clear a level! Keep up the good work!

Great job, Scrapman! You have fantastic instincts again. I like how you naturally think in terms of curves and the way forces flow along them. Be a little careful about tips and tricks for this, though. People are well intentioned in giving tried and true tips from the first two games but the simulation got significantly more advanced for PB3, and not all the tried and true works the same. I really enjoy watching your journey of discovery and problem solving, and the fact that you're not chasing the leader boards. If a tip interests you, fine, but I like the fresh perspective and that you're not just doing what all the veterans do. You're doing your own thing, it's working great, and I love it!

Amazing progress so far! Remember that if you shorten some of your beams, you can reduce the cost of a bridge, so you don’t always have to delete entire beams to knock down the budget.

Just a few small pieces of advice for you (they don’t tell you this in the campaign I don’t think) 1. You can create a really strong wood support by making a “muscle” which is essentially two triangles in the shape of a rhombus/diamond 2. Using ropes/cables on the underside of the bridge in combination with wood, you can create a strong tension bridge that can support more weight. 3. By creating an arch that goes below the bridge into an under support (so under the bridge, then over it, and back under it) creates a really strong support structure 4.

Love seeing my favorite game get a 3rd one! A little tip for saving costs: to prevent using steel which is super expensive compared to wood, make a muscle out of wood. A muscle is a rhombus shape with a piece of wood in the middle 2 joints. The middle wood helps it stay in place and the two sides of the rhombus evenly distribute the weight. It may look like it costs more because more parts, but surprisingly it works out even with the middle joints as close as possible!

tips for building 1 when using the trace tool there is a button (in the menu next to the trace icon) to make the line straight 2 hydraulics when placed will ALWAYS retract 50% of their length, so a hydraulic of 4 meters will retract 2 meters (unless you change that, also expanding/retracting can only go up to 50%) 3 you seemed to miss the indicators that say how much distance is between the left and right side when placing a foundation (16:48) lines to left and right saying 12.50m and 11,50m

Please keep playing Polybridge 3! Also: Tip 1 - Look into tension bridges, the can be pretty amazing when you find a use for the. Tip 2 - When using tension bridges, or just trying to save money, don't connect the road to anchor points because they may stretch and break Tip 3 - There are dozens of ways to save money in this game that are usually counter intuitive, such as dangling road like a string to use less of it. Or adjusting your bridge to, even, insane levels while using minimal materials. All you have to do is make sure everything is in the right place.

my biggest tip: enjoy the game. 99% of the people who are above you on the leaderboard are specifically focused on making the most efficient bridges possible, so don’t even bother comparing yourself to them because you aren’t playing like that. if you make a stupid concept into a stupider reality with this game and that makes you happy, let it make you happy. once you fall into the rabbit hole of shaving budget in this game you’ll never go back so enjoy it while it lasts.
