Nice video and ideas, thank you very much! If you don't mind, I'd like to add a few ideas I find really useful, in case anyone reading is interested: - Set a scale in the config menu, so one can only hit those notes on the pads which more or less fit into the chosen tonality. And the pad layout is much easier, so it's easier to jam, and a minor / major third is always 2 pads left / right; a triad is always 2 thirds stacked on top of each other = e.g. pads 1+3+5 - The 'Fill' function on notes will work with scales, so it is possible to fill notes which automatically fit into a chosen tonality - 'Render selection' in case one is running out of tracks. That way one can condense e.g. 3 tracks / a chord into a single sample (if enough sample space is left), which only takes up 1 track afterwards; or to apply a Sample Edit tweak to a whole chord or so (the render functionality is sometimes buggy in the current firmware, so make sure the rendered sample is complete before deleting the original events / notes...) - You can record the Audio In while playing back the pattern, that way you can record the audio of external gear while it plays back MIDI notes programmed into the Tracker (record the external gear's audio as a sample to further tweak it or take it with you if you don't want to carry around the external gear, or are running out of tracks, e.g. 3 MIDI tracks are condensed into 1 sample track) - Shift + Jogwheel transposes the selected notes up/down an octave

NES bgm is a crazy smart inspiration for dealing with complicated melodies in limited polyphony.

A bit lost with the "Complex Arpeggiators" part. I will watch again, but would there be a way for you to delve more into details, or maybe demo what you explained with the groovebox + synth interaction?

For chords, another solution : play the chords with the sounds of the Polyend and its effects, while recording them with an external recorder, you sample it in the Polyend... Best.

I started this way- it makes sense. However, I realized that working within the constraints of the polyend tends to yield a more unique result.

I always wanted a polyend tracker but I just don't know if that style is for me with the codes and stuff.

Definitely understandable. There are a few free trackers you can get to check out the tracker workflow. Milky tracker is pretty close the the PT, however sunvox or renoise (demo) you can try and are good

nice video on melodies. I want to buy a plyend tracker , but I could not find how to define notes lenghts, to define 1/2,1/4,1/8,1/12, triplets etc, also how to define time like 4/4, 3/4,6/8, is it possible to do this?
@Aisjam

Thank you Alexi, Trackers are interesting as the note is held till the note changes or till it cuts off. c5 -- -- -- d5 -- cut -- so if you are doing 4 steps per beat, c5 would be a 1/4 note and the d5 would be an 1/8 and would go silent. with varying steps per beat and signatures can make some real complex grooves. I cover this over in the drums and grooves video kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqjYap2eitWli5o (I jumped to the triplets section with the micro move). Its been one of my best synth purchases and would recommend, so have a look through this series and my other videos. you should get a sense of what the Polyend Tracker is capable of.

@@Aisjam wow excellent explanation this gives a lot of flexibility for polyrhythms. So is it fair to say that every pattern is like a measure, so you could divide it up to 128 steps (32 steps per beat)?
