Those trails were the perfect testing ground, definitely not taking it easy! Stoked to hear you are enjoying the bike, especially for the money.

Even price aside, so far this bike is really fun. Looking to swap out some parts and share some experience with upgrades as well. Now we want to try more models 😃

This is a great review. You hit on a lot of points and details that other reviews don’t quite capture; this is more real-world oriented, with examples. Even your comments to questions here are top notch. Great work.

I've had my T7 for about 2 weeks and I'm loving it. Been riding the same hardtail since 2009 so I'm extremely happy with the T7.

I have a choice between this or the Scott Spark 960 2021 for $150 more. I'm 6.2 and weight 255 lbs so will get xl. My rides include urban riding for general sport during the week, and trails (not downhill stuff) on the weekends. Thanks, great vids!!!
@StraightLine_MTB3 жыл бұрын
With the Siskiu you get more aggressive geometry which will feel more capable on the downs. The spark is more xc so it'll be a better climber while being less confident on the downs. The build kits while there are differences are balanced between the 2. Both will serve you well but as you progress the Siskiu may be more fun as the trails you ride get more technical. Neither are a bad choice just boils down to what you're wanting to do. I prefer a steeper seat tube angle and the Siskiu wins that......I personally also prefer the 66° head tube angle over the Spark 67°.

Great video. Ordering a T7 within the next few days. Question...for a medium frame (I'm 5'7' rider) would go with 27.5" or 29"? (last time I was into mtbs was back in 07ish - so a lot has changed.
@StraightLine_MTB3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mitch. The 27.5 will be a little more playful where the 29er will smooth out the trail more. I think this bike is surprisingly playful for its weight with the 29er wheels. I would choose based on if you are looking for something that will be more on the playful side or if you want something with a little more comfort if you are riding more on the technical side. Since I have been riding 29ers (which I swore I never would) I haven't been on anything else. Can't really go wrong with either.

Would you try out a megneg on deluxe +
@StraightLine_MTB Жыл бұрын
I had a pike select plus on this bike for a bit. I dropped about 1lb and made a great bike even better. I think a pike, fox 34 or 36 would be great. I personally would choose the new Manitou Mattoc as I really like their suspension. For rear, I think the stock deluxe is fine but if I were changing it I'd look no further than the Manitou mara or mara pro.

Great review! I've got a large T7 on pre-order (est. ship date 9/9 at time of purchase) and I'm itching for it to get here so I can set it up and ride! Out if curiosity, what are those tires that came on it? I know that supply chains are ridiculous right now so some things are likely to get swapped out due to availability.
@StraightLine_MTB3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Austin. The T7 is a great bike and I think you will enjoy it. The tires that came on our bike were the Vee Snap Flow in the Sticky compound. It was listed as having WTB TrailBoss tires. The Vees are a bit slow rolling but the grip is great.

@@StraightLine_MTB Thanks for the info! I'm stoked to get out there and ride. Been borrowing hardtails from friends to get out there lately but I'm looking forward to having my own machine to thrash. Last full squish bike I had was a Specialized Camber Comp from several years back

I have a question! On the website it doesn’t have any pedals listed under the specifications, so do you need to order something separate to get that little kit with the torque wrench and the pedals or does it come with the bike when you add to cart?
@StraightLine_MTB3 жыл бұрын
Those items come with the bike. I haven't used the pedals but they look usable and the best "included " pedals I've seen.

Digging it for sure. But let me ask you this would it be a big or difference if you were to spend say 600 more for a yt capra base AL? Or would this thing do the job? Curious on your thoughts
@StraightLine_MTB3 жыл бұрын
I had a '18 Capra and would say this feels like a better climber. The Capra will be the more confident descnder with it's longer travel and geo. Siskiu's rear suspension feels less refined at speed in the smaller chunk, but a better shock may tame it a bit.. The T series Siskiu feels more playful and is more fun on less demanding trails. I'd love to do a custom build with the Siskiu which would up the game and I'd guess still be a good value. If I was riding bigger lines more often and wanted to hit parks the Capra would be a better choice. Still pretty surprised with this bike.
@RydenDirty3 жыл бұрын
@@StraightLine_MTB awesome response. Exactly what my thoughts were with the D7. If it was just for the trails that aren't very demanding the D7 is fantastic. But for my type of riding it wouldn't have lasted me. For entry there's nothing better. But for smashing some bike parks and double black descending I needed just a bit more. And my capra will be here in a few months 👍

Hey mate how would you compare this Siskiu T7 to a Trek Fuel EX 5? Deciding between the two with Trek being a few hundred more but specs looks very similar
@StraightLine_MTB2 жыл бұрын
I haven't been on a Trek but I'm sure it's a solid bike. Polygon value is excellent but with Trek your getting a more refined suspension design (hence the lower value build) and local support. Those are important to some so that can factor in to your decision. I'll say I didn't have much issues with the T7 especially for the price.
@BikeTripBro2 жыл бұрын
Is the rear suspension ok in compare to top of the line 10k usd bike? Of course the more expensive ones are better but is there a "huge" difference? Can a weekend rider notice it?
@StraightLine_MTB2 жыл бұрын
Great question. I think the biggest difference would be more into suspension design. The T7 gets it done and does it well but doesn't feel as refined as a higher end bike. Is it worth spending 2 to 3 times more? That's really up to the rider and budget. I've ridden the T7 on all my local trails and wasn't held back and I actually quite enjoy riding it. It's a great bike to start and grow with.

@@StraightLine_MTB thanks bro. Looking forward for more T7 videos. Hopefully you can do review of T8 in the future... I think thats the sweet spot of Polygon lineup.
@StraightLine_MTB2 жыл бұрын
@@BikeTripBro no problem, thanks for watching. I agree the T8 is a great start and only thing I'd change is wheels on that build to save weight. My thoughts on the T7 should translate over to T8 aside from drivetrain weight and front fork. Great bikes
