For those who are putting too much pressure on the wrists of hunched over too much, consider a bar with a 38mm rise so your back can be more upright. I used to ride BMX so I like higher rise bars...plus it's easier to do wheelies!

Nice, comprehensive review. One of my fleet is being retired so I am shopping for a 27.5 HT. As you can imagine, LBS pickins' are very slim. The Xtrada 6 and 7 look like likely candidates. FYI, PNW makes a 27.2 mm dropper. I have one on the bike that is going, in fact. Where was that test ride?

I eventually installed a PNW Rainier on the bike. It's very nice. Even better than the PNW. Oneup Components just released one. The low stack of that post will be a game changer for some. The trail in the video was not an official trail and is sadly no longer in existence. 😞

Great video, I’m really considering the Xtrada 6 as my next bike, great parts for the price, right now on Bikesonline, they’re having a discount on it, now it’s at an amazing $720!! I like the high quality video, a lot of other people have sub-par videos on the Xtrada 6. My 2 biggest gripes are the thin 27.2 (or 28.2, can’t remember!) seat post, limiting dropper compatibility, and the narrow 24mm width rims, I can totally live with the narrow rims, I’m not going to upgrade the wheel set, but for 2.25-2.35 tires it’ll probably be fine, and I ride light to medium trail at most. The thin seat post can’t be fixed, but at least it’s not bendy, and again it’s not a deal breaker. I really like the quick release boost axles, you get most of the boost advantages, without the increased price (at least not much), and you still reap rain ease of removal.
@AdrenalineIsLife2 жыл бұрын
It's really hard to beat the value of the Xtrada 6. Especially when they're discounted. The 27.2mm seattube is my biggest gripe but I found the dropper post options to be adequate. The goal is ultimately to get the seat out of the way. Since we're not doing freestyle with these bikes they don't necessarily need to be slammed in my view. Also, the good thing about the rims is that 24mm rims and 2.25in just makes the bike faster. 😉. Big fat tires equal more drag. Glad you enjoyed the video. 🙏 😁

Just got my Xtrada 6 today, over all very happy besides the tektro brakes instead of the advertised Shimano brakes. Also had to un bend the front disc and loosen/grease the front hub ( it was bound upon delivery). Not a bad bike for the money and the shipping was less than 7 days. If you aren’t familiar with bike maintenance, I would recommend having your lbs look it over for stuff like I mentioned.

I purchased this bike and you are spot on about the 27.2 seatpost. Since the seat post is 350mm long i ordered X - Fusion Manic dropper post that is 350mm long with 100mm travel and i really hope that it will fit? Meaning the bottle cage mounts may come into contact with the dropper post. Because the standard post now bottoms out on the top bottle cage mount and cannot drop any lower for shorter people and that sucks for them! The other fact is the rear brake caliper position from what i see cannot accomodate 203mm rotor- 180mm is max without hitting the frame! The front can accept the 203mm rotor with the standard adaptor. The peddles are lame and that was my first upgrade. Over all the bike is pretty good and should keep me happy for years to come..
@AdrenalineIsLife3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, bikes in this category will have the extra bottle cage mounts. Even my wife's Trek Marlin has this issue. The dropper should fit ok and actuate properly. The cage mount take up minimal space in the seat tube. Keep us posted on how it turns out. 203mm in the back is lot of rotor. 180mm in the rear is plenty in most situations.

Thanks! I can fit 2.4 front and rear. The 2.4 up front is a tight fit. 2.6 will fit in the rear but it's too big relative to the rim width and is likely to squirm under hard turns. The Xtrada 7 has wider rims and would work better with bigger tires.

Thank you! I've heard that in reference to road bikes but not on mountain bikes. Since road bikes are rigid with small tires, its more of an issue. Usually, you are out of the saddle on a mountain bike so it's less of an issue.

I wasnt happy that when my T8 arrived (around 5/01/21) the cool lil cardboard box inside that had all the paperwork and tools etc had been opened and pretty much dumped out inside the big box and the big box had a hole in the bottom from shipping so who knows what was missing. More importantly- they had Vee tire co tires on the bike instead of the Schwalbes that they listed. - Those are worth about half as much by the way. -also a paint chip by the emblem on the headtube. So I emailed them -only about the tires- asking them to take the vee's back and send me the Schwalbes... The bikes online guys try to distance themselves from polygon like it was a different company and took zero responsibility for the manufacturer swap. (polygon is the only bike online bikes sells) They said there was a shortage (obviously you can buy as many Schwalbes as you want on Amazon). They said I should be glad i didnt have to wait longer for the right tires ( I did wait about 4-5 months). Im ok with taking a chance to save money adjusting the bike myself etc, Im not ok with this company not sending me what they advertised and what I paid for.

@AdrenalineIsLife9 ай бұрын
Its likely that they're glazed over. Replace the pads. Use organic pads as the rotors are not compatible with metallic pads. Clean the rotors thoroughly with brake cleaner or alcohol. You can do them on this bike. However, I would look at the Xtrada 7 which uses thru axles instead of quick release skewers. Also look at the Vitus Sentier which is about $1000.

The 2x11 on the Xtrada 6 is fine and still a great value. 1x is simpler and less weight. The 2x gives you more gears. If you do a lot of pedaling on mellow terrain the 2x will be a good option. If the trails are rough, a 1x is a better choice.

Thoughts on the Xtrada 6 vs Vitus Nucleus VR?
@AdrenalineIsLife3 жыл бұрын
Both are good spec for their respective cost. I haven't ridden the Vitus so I can only speak to the specs. The VR has an air fork vs the coil on the Xtrada and it has better tires. Its questionable whether there is much difference in performance better the XCR air and coil. Xtrada has a better drivetrain with much wider range and a boost 141 frame versus 135mm frame on the Vitus. Boost frame makes for a stronger wheel and more upgrade options down the road. The Xtrada also has a lifetime frame warranty and the Vitus is 5 years. I prefer the Shimano brakes on the Poly over the Tektro in the Vitus. That being said, at the $699 price point the Nucleus VR is hard to beat.

Should i get the xtrada 7 or polygon syncline c5? Need it to do food deliveries for 5 days a week, 10 hours daily, for 3 years. Need a good hardtail for durability, technicality and most importantly speed. Many bumps, grass, curbs around my area that's why i need a light weight mountain bike with good specs. Thanks in advance.
@AdrenalineIsLife3 жыл бұрын
The C5 is a better spec and highly capable. It's also lighter weight. The Xtrada 7 is still very capable. It depends on how banged up your bike will get while working. I would prefer an aluminum bike for those situations. If that's not an issue, the light weight C5 will make things easier. Hope that helps you in your decision.

@AdrenalineIsLife3 жыл бұрын
They don't bottom out because of the bottle cage mount. The seat tube height varies by size the smaller the bike the shorter the seat tube. So the bike should be appropriately sized to rider height. If you are looking to slam the seatpost like a dirt jumper you will have to cut down the seatpost.

The San Quentin is good for jumping and steep terrain. Another option I would recommend is the Marin Bobcat Trail 4. Bikes Online is good about sending you a multitool with your order. They typically will send a basic set of pedals as well. Pedals I recommend are Raceface Chester, Oneup Composite pedals or Entity PP16. They are good pedals and pretty inexpensive. Hope that helps.
