Rewatching this series in 2024 made me want to redownload and play Spore, so I downloaded a bunch of mods and played from the cell stage to the creature stage, made an apex predator I named "Growlie" and had a great time. Then the game crashed without warning and I stopped playing. Truly the quintessential spore experience.

got back into Spore, had it crash in the middle of showing my friend how the game works. i got to the middle of creature stage in about 30 minutes and hadn't saved. of course, it still saves your creatures, but it doesn't even consider "hey maybe the game should also be saving the save file" esp. knowing that EA was aware of its tendency to crash when loading 😵‍💫 it sucks but it made me remember these vids
