I watched this vid because I saw the sugar skulls. They r both great. I think I'm partial to the pink one. Question my daughter & I tried to make matching sugar skull cross bones. I thought it would b different. It was a fail. I couldn't put what I envisioned on the piece. Do u think the idea is lame or complex? Would love feedback thanks

I was actually just thinking about some type of sugar skull cross bones; not so much the same sugar skull style since they don't have the main eyes and mouths to decorate around, but I don't think the idea is lame! I was actually considering just making patterned crossbones in general! I think they would make lovely pieces.

I want to know if you had any trouble getting the resin out of the bone chillers mold. I have that same mold and it was nearly impossible to get the cured resin out and yes they were fully cured. I love what you did with them making them into sugar skulls. - Heidi

Heidi, I've been having some difficulty with this mold as well. I find the skulls to be a lot easier to remove when they're only had about 24 hours to cure, or even less. If they sit for too long in the mold, maybe more than 48 hours, they become increasingly difficult to remove. I actually ruined one of my molds because a resin piece would just NOT come out. I tried to make the pieces a little more flexible by running the entire mold and resin piece under some hot water, which helped a little bit, but it still was stuck with the eye, nose, and mouth details of the mold. I hope this helps a little!

CoolRiceBunnies Thanks for the reply. :) I use it with polymer clay no problem but the resin always gives me fits. I tried the water thing too and yeah it did help a little bit. I wonder if I took one of my existing skulls and got some other silicone mold maker to make a copy that might work better? I think I may look into some kind of mold release for it that I can use with the resin that won't muck up the resin. I made 3-4 glitter skulls in the mold with resin and so glad they came out perfect as I was thinking I wouldn't use it for resin again. *laughs* I am not one to give up too easily though. :0) - Heidi

The charms are awesome! All you need is a new battery in the detector its 9v if you can reach it ?? It's just a low battery beep. Pretty annoying at night hehe. Hope that helps!

I do it all with video editing, and making my own images and graphics with photoshop. I suggest looking up video tutorials on those kinds of things since I cannot just teach people how to do it online ^-^

Ahh yeah That would b kinda cool. I'm partial to checker board. May be I can try something like that. I did water marble two a while back. One turned out great the other was a hot mess. However that technique is hard for me even with my nails. I'll see if I can find it and put a pic on my face book. Since for some reason I failed uploading a vid from my phone and its my only source of computer. Let me know if u concoct something. :)
