I bought Cernit clay years ago after watching a comparison tutorial by Polymer Clay Tutor. It has been sitting in a tray collecting dust all these years because it is my "good" clay. But, your faux stone tutorials have inspired me to finally play with the Cernit. I'm really enjoying learning new techniques, and revisiting familiar ones. Thank you so much.

Thank you, Deb, I really appreciate your tutorials! I usually watch several of them at a time while sipping a cocktail, then decide to try it myself. Of course, I'm basically doing a mishmash of those various techniques, but I'm having a blast! And most of the time I end up with some really beautiful pieces!

Hi Deb, lovely to see you. I had a great Christmas thank you, and glad you did too. Oooh, how lovely going on a cruise to the Bahamas - my sister and her boyfriend did that a few years ago, and really loved it, and had a brill time. Thank you for a great tutorial, love the colours of this, it's so pretty. Have a lovely holiday and Happy New Year to you both too. Have fun, xx

When the clay is cut after you've rolled and layered it reminds me of a geode love this going to adopt the method see if I can do a geode photos to come in fb soon xx hope to see photos of your cruise beach and ocean theme pendants up next i imagine thank you for the tut
@clayboutique
@clayboutique Жыл бұрын
Technically it is a geode slice if you don’t use the cutters to make the pendant shape, but that isn’t what I was going for, which is why I didn’t call it a geode. But, yeah, you could easily omit the cutting out of shapes part. Thank you ❤️

How cool, and fun, beautiful. Happy new year, and enjoy your cruise, I did when I had one. Minus that first day of choppy waters. Almost went through a plate glass display window. I have never ever been sea sick and that was a first time for me, and we lived on the river and spent tons of time on the water. lol so ya it took a lot for me to feel that way. But the rest of the cruise was awesome. So enjoy it as I’m sure you have been already since your hubby is a dream for every women. lol tfs hugs

Once again I’m learning. When making a long thin strip for a center roll, how do you keep the ends from sticking together and ruining last bit? You have answered one of my questions. Thank you for helping.

Thanks for answering so quickly. I’ve tried making the long roll for the center strips and when they go through the pasta machine and they come out, the beginning goes through fine but as it gets to the end the beginning of the strip will be stuck together and I can’t separate it without ripping it. And it ruins the end of the roll. How can I prevent it?

Thanks for the great tute! I have a question regarding the chopped bits. Don't you need to condition the clay and then do your chippy/choppy bits? I understand that using a liberal amount of liquid polymer clay will hold in the chippy / choppy bits in this tute but what about when the bits are bigger?
@clayboutique
@clayboutique Жыл бұрын
You don’t need to precondition the bits for chippy choppy. If you watch my other chippy choppy tutorials, where the pieces are chunkier, and then formed into a block, that’s when the clay gets conditioned.

Love watching you work and your pieces are beautiful. Which translucent clay is the clearest when baked ? I notice you use a lot of cernit clay, and that is not in big supply here in Ohio. Thank you for sharing your talents and knowledge with us.
@clayboutique
@clayboutique Жыл бұрын
I don’t use a lot of Cernit. You’re probably just watching some videos, where I did. I also live in Ohio, and you can get Cernit from BlueberryBeads.com. Cernit is clearer than Premo. Pardo is even clearer than that, but harder to condition. Thank you ❤️
