Yay! I love this! I'm so excited to try to make it today! I think I might try making oranges instead of lemons and use a different shade of yellow for the lemons later
@FernMitchHandmade4 жыл бұрын
Yes! Do try it. I love that idea. I’m sure you can make a whole range of citrus with this! 🥰

So now is this final pieces bendable?
@FernMitchHandmade4 жыл бұрын
This one isn’t that bendable due to the 3D details on the earrings.

There are so many who use alot of clay, it's a massive waist. I appreciate that you use what you need 💯 and don't waist

Could you advise what metal do you use for your findings like jump ring and stud? I always have problem with rust. So sad when I found that the findings that already attached with clay went rusted. Thanks
@FernMitchHandmade4 жыл бұрын
Hi, I think you meant they tarnish eh? Most stainless steel tarnish over time. If you search as “non-tarnishing” findings, there are plenty available online. I think the best ones are the ones that are plated.

Thank you for the tutorial! One question: why do you make a ball with the polymer clay before starting? Is it easier to work with it later? Thanks!!
@FernMitchHandmade4 жыл бұрын
Your are welcome 🥰 Yes, often a ball is very easy to manipulate.

Great tutorial! :) I'm just wondering if mixing the colored clay with translucent clay is necessary?
@FernMitchHandmade4 жыл бұрын
Amelia absolutely not. I added it because I wanted the middle of the lemon to be translucent 😊

i love your tutorials! can i ask, how do you avoid air bubbles in your earrings and what do you do if it happens?
@FernMitchHandmade4 жыл бұрын
Thank you 🥰 Make sure you begin by conditioning your clay but don’t let the clay be too soft. And if you see a bubble before baking, pop it right away. Usually on 3D patterns like these it’s rare. If you get one use a fine sandpaper to sand it off. To avoid bubbles when baking (non-3D designs) sandwich your pieces in between two tiles and some printer paper 😊 I hope this helps

@@FernMitchHandmade do you buy this polymer clay or do you make it by your own?
@FernMitchHandmade4 жыл бұрын
I buy mine 😊 if you are interested in making your own I have seen lots of recipes online on air dry type called cold porcelain.

@FernMitchHandmade4 жыл бұрын
Hello, 😊 You can use air dry clay. Polymer clay has to be baked.

I know this is an older video but NEVER open your jump rings the way you did! It weakens it and causes it to break fairly easily.
