Paying tribute to Dimebag on his birthday is just a class act.

Pretty sad and elitist that people in the comments are putting down younger listeners for not knowing a Pantera song. Fact is, this is how they get exposed to "new" to them music along with platforms like TikTok. Speaking as a 50 year old, times are changing my fellow boomers. Change with them or get left in the dust.

Ironic isn't it?? They make the problem they're complaining about worse by being gatekeepers.. It's a shame that the metal scene is so full of this kind of attitude and i think it's exactly why the genre has been stagnating. But i love seeing bands like Polyphia and Bring Me the Horizon do very different stuff.

I know Pantera. I was there. I didn't connect the dots until 3 days later when I saw an article about it. The show was so mindblowing I probably would have missed sweet child of mine. Never thought I would see crowd surfing at Polyphia, I forgive myself.

I'm 21, almost all my friend group knew and loved Pantera before they played domination at our concert in AZ, but when they surprised us with it it was incredibly getting to mosh like never before that knowing I'd probably not get that opportunity to see it performed live the way Dime did it again (Zakk's performance isn't bad but its too different so I consider it a separate thing).

As a 16 yr old, I love Pantera, ALOT. Sadly I wasn't around when they were still a band. Rip Dime, and Vinnie. Also it's awesome to see Polyphia do this.

Dimebag and Vinnie forever. But even the immense skills of Polyphia can't get the Pantera groove right...
@bigcrazycarboy672 Жыл бұрын
I could be wrong but during this concert the guitars soumd like theyre in E standard tuning and dime plays it in Eb standard (slightly sharper than that but somewhere in the middle). Also they played a lot less of the song during this concert than they did at mine in Arizona a few months later, but I can't find any videos from my concert!

Pretty sure it was Scott's idea, i think he mention in one interview that he grew up listening to Pantera, i can't really imagine Tim being their fan

Definetely scotts idea, but im pretty tim listens to just about everything. I've found some good death metal from a retweet of his one time lol
