As a waterproof method I plan to use a PVC sheet membrane system to a new concrete slab under a synthetic grass tennis court. Below is a carpark. About 600m2 in total. How would Polyurea compare in cost to a welded sheet membrane?

I my opinion logistics can drive the cost of Polyurea Application. It will also depend on what thickness the material is applied as well. Let me know if you require this service as I would be more than happy to quote you.

Thickness wise is also not really an issue in a tennis court situation however, the surface needs to be waterproof with long term warranty, what thickness is standard, 1, 2, 3mm? The coating needs to be consistent in thickness. It will be applied to a new steel troweled surface. A lumpy application will likely be reflected in the grass surface, which won't be acceptable. Is that possible?

@@iandunn9497 It is possible with a slower drying Waterproofing Polyurea at a thickness of approximately 1.5 - 2mm in thickness. Please let me know if you require a quotation?

Hi Guys. I saw mentioned in a previous comment that there is now a Ployurea compound suitable for swimming pools? Y/N?? Do you have this application/product for your business? Curious as to weather or not it can be used for a Salt Chlorinated pool? Cheers...

Yes, I did. This would be best sourced from suppliers either from the USA or Europe. Australia predominately gets these products from these 2 areas. Please consider carefully before you go down this track as we don't spray Polyurea into Pools as this is not our main area for work.

Hi Madhusudham, you can use it in these areas but really have to be careful on who the sprayer is & how confine the space of these areas are as the product can build up very quickly leaving lumps & bumps. Tiles can be laid but once again depends upon the finish product of the Polyurea. Hope this helps.

Personally I would not recommend it for swimming pools as chlorine will dissolve most Polyureas. Their is well documented evidence to support this. Maybe some manufacturers depending on what country you live in will have a Polyurea that will do this but I would be asking for its chemical resistance chart or data to prove that it will not fail. It's a wonderful product but must be applied in the right environments.

Use ChloriPur for swimming pools. It is the best.

We used polyurea for our swimming pool, because it's a very unregular shape. It is the best solution for such projects. Personally I haven't heard that Polyurea would dissolve in chlorine. Make sure you use aliphatic polyurea - it is UV resistant. And you can always apply some coating to improve performance. Top Product!

@antitransful I agree that with your statement above. Since this video was made there has advancements in Polyurea. Only certain types of Polyurea would be suitable. As I have stated above certain countries may have their own brands that are resistant to Chlorine & it would be best to further research that product before applying.

can you spray this over tile? what kind of prep work is required??

Hi Chris, we have sprayed over tiles in a Casino. The prep work that was required was to to grind over the existing tiles with a very abrasive discs to provide a suitable key. Cleanup. Followed by the recommended primer for the Polyurea that requires to be applied. We gun textured the floor to provide a non-skid finish for the bar staff. Hope this helps.

Hello Amare, there are many great products since this video was made many years ago. I would suggest that you inquire about suppliers that might either come from the United States or Europe. Unfortunately Australia primarily only imports these products. Sorry I cannot be more help. Thanks for watching.

+Asif Bayqara Hi Asif, in most cases I would say yes but it all depends on the spray job as this can effect the levelling of the tiles. Larger areas would also be preferable. Thanks for watching.
