This story is beautiful. The way it captures the bond between siblings and the frustrations of unequal treatment among family members is truly special. All the younger brother wanted was to show his older brother that he wasn't alone and that he loves him but a lack of perspective, lack of understanding, abuse at home, huge pressure from his teacher and the shortsightedness of youth almost stopped him from seeing and appreciating his brother's affection. Kudos to all involved. P.S. Also, glad he didn't kill his younger brother.
@Brian-iz9nx4 жыл бұрын
Agreed, great video. @S B although I think you missed some subtle parts of the video. It wasn't abuse or unequal treatment. It was really well demonstrated how the older brother perceived unequal treatment but in truth it was due to his actions. Each brother's approach created different responses. The tell tale sign is at the end, when the younger brother takes the fall for the cigs he gets the same punishment the older brother would have gotten. Equal punishment for both brothers based on the severity of the infraction. In actuality the older brother was receiving more anger and discipline from his Dad because he was doing much worse. ie. Younger brother might be gettings C+'s and the older brother might be getting F's.

Instead of whipping her and physically abusing your children for smoking, sit down with them and tell them why it's bad to do so. call me a snowflake all you want, abuse is still abuse. The writing, acting and presentation of this film was outstanding! I found this film disturbing on so many different levels. The two little boys are in the world alone. No one to make sure they are safe. The father is suffering! I don't know if his wife died or left them. Now he physically and emotionally abuses the children. The older boy is abusing the younger brother because he is abused. This is an absolutely heart breaking story!! The young actors were amazing in their craft!

Why is everyone saying the older one did this to his brother because wanted him to lose something he couldn't achieve. He didn't make him do this. The little brother misguidedly sacrificed himself in what he thought was the only way he could. It was coming from the most innocent purest form of love. Obviously that wasn't the right way to do it. The older one sees what his brother has done for him at the end nd he feels guilt for it, that's why the smaller one caresses his head at the end to let him know he knows what he was doing so he could free him from the guilt.

There is a true story of a Russian father with Olympic dreams for his children having 2 daughters. He gave up one because she was disabled, born without legs. Other than that mentally and physically normal. She became an accomplished athlete, famous actually. The second daughter was born with no disabilities and was trained for the Olympics since she could walk. I don't know if she ever made it to the Olympics however what I do know is that when she was young she legally removed all her father's parental rights he had and cut off all communication with him. The two sisters did end up reconnecting in the future, and I do not know if they ever reconnected with their father. This is a story of a father rejecting one daughter, pushing the other too far, and then being rejected.

That just shows the importance of the impact of adult's words on children. A parent should always treat siblings equally. Also a parent should never hit his children, if he wants to discipline them, there are other ways to insert authority. And the father in this film shows a crucial lesson that most humans haven't learnt - to fail is to learn. It's not a bad thing to fail at something, you are never going to be successful at everything that you pick up. I guess Isaac got bad grades at school and they weren't acceptable because the father saw them as failures. The father's an idiot for being that way but perhaps he himself was raised by people that taught him to be like this. Unfortunatelly there are a lot of people out there that are like this. Great film tho' everything was well shot and the story was told brilliantly. They didn't only show us the characters' feeling but also why the characters react and do as they do which separates a good filmmaker from a bad one!

WOW! VERY IMPRESSED ON CASTING THE YOUNG COMPETITIVE GYMNASTS! Real recognizes Real. Great casting! The story; The younger brothers toes did come apart, on one of the last Giants he did before his dowels break, because of his brother jealously.DEEP. -Very well written; The older brothers strengths were used against him. Because he was performing better than others, The Coach told him to become a coach to his younger brother, and his younger brother started to thrive, while he fell behind. -I blame the coach; It was great advising the brother to train the other brother, however he should have said that they do ‘everything together’ so the older brother does not fall behind due to a coaching error. . . as he unfortunately did fall behind. - Great work!..terrible parenting, you’re supposed to protect your little brother… not risk breaking his neck. He new better. Outstanding job! Love your videos. Best wishes

@@woomyzooms3781 Have you ever noticed how some sports select for certain physiques. Being skinny makes gymnastics much easier. Obviously they have muscle but its a lot more lean than the average person.

@@Soma2501 I understand what you're saying. I know I couldn't do what they're doing. They're probably in better shape than the hater comment.

There are too many feels in this. 😐 It's an excellent example of what can happen when you just push children to be the best without regard to what a child _actually_ needs. I'm afraid this happens all too often. I've seen it too many times with coaches _and_ parents in my middle-schooler's sporting events and practices.

Feels weird how the older brother only felt content at the end knowing he’d brought his brother down to his level. Basic Cain and Abel, he wanted to clip his brother’s wings out of envy. He didn’t want to kill him, but he no longer wanted to feel inferior. He was willing to risk his brother’s death for that. Pretty selfish.

Healthy competition is a lie. It is evil within us which competes. That serpent of the Garden of Eden.
@lastmanstanding26223 жыл бұрын
I disagree. Healthy competition is not a lie for it makes us try harder and be better at what we are trying to succeed at. It's only when it becomes abusive does it become evil/bad.

it stops being healthy competition when it starts being described like that
