Actually I see very little of Polish heritage in the movie. Germans developed this beautiful and rich country. My family is from area of Konitz. I wish I was leaving there under refreshing wind of German inventiveness and hard work. Eastern Soviet hordes destroyed vast areas. Polish rebuilt some monuments of history. Mentioning in Germany historical truth about the war, its reasons is dangerous. For how long. Poles were listening to English (they did not want to help Poland they were just buying time for rearmament), forget French as usually unreliable, and Hitler offered Poland to go together for Russia. Russians would support help of Germany and have better life than under Stalin who murdered already 20 millions of them. Polish were mislead and misinformed. Thanks

Well 13.000 years ago the Polish or their decendents were in the Caucasus region in Russia (Asia Minor) so actually a couple of thousand kilometres from Germany in western Europe or "Magna Germania" as the Romans called Germania thousands of years before the Polish had ever even heard of Magna Germania. Unlike the western European countries the Polish eastern Europeans more recently originate much further to the east before the Polish continued pushing westwards at the expense of western European nations mainly the Germanic Peoples of Germany.

This is the case, for example, between Poland and Germany. The modern borders exists as a result of WW2. It is also a historical process, just like the German colonization in the 13th century. Poland at that time colonized the lands east of the Bug River.
