Alligators chasing after hippos and ostriches! I can never unsee Disney's Fantasia when I hear the Dance of the Hours. I'm sure La Gioconda was a nice opera, too. LoL! But seriously, this one was fun. I can hear passages where Liszt may have gotten inspiration for his most dazzling piano embellishments. Truly enjoyed this Ponchielli collection. Thanks, Brilliant Classics!

Wunderschöne Interpretation dieser vierzehn kompakten und fein komponierten Klavierwerke im veränderlichen Tempo mit klarem doch anmutigem Klang des technisch fehlerlosen Klaviers und mit künstlerisch kontrollierter Dynamik. Faszinierend vom Anfang bis zum Ende!

The very first piece in this collection was the music on Allan Sherman's big novelty hit (at least in the USA) Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah. I never knew that !!!
