My tribute to Desi Jones "Good to be there" by Chalice and to Rej Forte who are now both in Zion! The lyrics are fitting to the current manifestation.
Master Drummer Desi Jones passed away. He was the well-known drummer for the band Chalice! He will be sorely missed in the Reggae Music Industry and left a huge legacy. Give thanks for the inspiration.
This is also my tribute to the master Rej Forte from the UK, well known for his productions and music through Jah Works and Earth Works Amsterdam. Give thanks for times together and the lovely productions you made me part of with my fellow musicians and our friend Ben King
No clicks, no tricks, just playing with bass, vocals and other instruments!
Lyrics:
Good to Be There by Chalice
It's a rocky road, yeah, so rocky
Though the road is rocky
It's the only way you've got to go
So row children of Israel and ride on
Leaving the fire down below
It will be good to be there
When the gates of Zion are closed
(Good to be there) Good to be there (good to be there)
It will be good to be there
When the gates of Zion are closed
(Good to be there, good to be there)
You can't buy your way with gold and silver
Can't fight your way with sticks and stones
You've got walk across the river, steppin', steppin'
Children of Zion going home
It will be good to be there
When the gates of Zion are closed
(Good to be there) Good to be there (good to be there)
Good to be there
When the gates of Zion are closed
(Good to be there, good to be there)
(..)
Though the road is rocky
It's the only way you've got to go
You've got walk across the river, steppin', steppin'
Children of Zion going home
It will be good to be there
When the gates of Zion are closed
(Good to be there) So good to be there (good to be there)
It will be good to be there
When the gates of Zion are closed
(Good to be there, good to be there)
So row ye, my brothers
Let's go, yeah, yeah
Good to be there
Wanna leave the fire down below
Keep the fire down below, oh yeah
So row ye, my brothers
Let's go, yeah, yeah
The only way to go..
It's a rocky road, yeah..
