Chris I like the way you keep up with the equipment around you and the way you take care of not hitting anything with the excavator . I’m retired now but used to run backhoes and dozers. I enjoy watching someone who cares and is extremely talented at his trade

I’m about to get a 3 dollar raise tomorrow because I learned grading on an excavator, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t learn anything from watching these videos. Thanks for taking the time to record shit like this!

When you first said that the mud in the pond had to be dugout, I thought that you would once again be laying down a pad and would be on the project an extra week or two, but I was wrong, guess the client did not want the whole pond cleaned and deepened. I would very much like to see both ground and aerial videos of the 10-acre lake with the bridge crossing once the bridge has been built and the water table has come up to normal. That was one helluva beautiful job you and your crew did on that one. I would kill to be young enough and rich enough to afford something even close to what you guys made for that client.

Your comment about you making a boring video deserves a reply, Chris. I honestly don;t think you know how to make a boring video; your commentary is good enough/ funny enough to lift the most mundane video. You make this old man very happy . It's not very often that I can say that about a guy! Keep them coming, and I hope the winter is not as bad as you fear.!

Too bad you didn't get that "Big Job" you were talking about. Would have loved seeing you dig another 5 acre pond. Your pond videos are my favorite. Anyway, this job will look nice once everything gets a chance to grow in. Won't be able to tell that borrow pit was even there once the ground gets disked in.

Nothing like the saying rob Peter to pay back Paul you took the good dry dirt from the pond filled the hole in the field farmer can use straight away, the pond gets cleaned and deepened at one end and made larger win win for all concerned.

@letsdig18 what would be the purpose in having a pond go gradually from two feet down to seven or eight feet? The last pond that I helped put in was about five feet down to about fifteen feet with a lot of structures for fish. Must be how folks out your way like there ponds I guess.

But if you make the pond deeper on one side, the water surface tilts in that direction. Or? Seriously, you are a very good teem. The work flows well when you are a good teem.

Chris, You mentioned boring! I have the ability to play the video at 2X speed but can not bring myself to do it! I'm sure others are doing the same thing I do. I try to guess where the next scoop comes from, where it's going, or how many scoops and when to push the tree down. Sometimes I turn on your videos right after feeding my 3 month old grand daughter. She sits on the couch arm and we watch it together. She usually watches the whole video "very quietly"! Keep them coming! Respectfully, Kevin from Missouri.

That's because there are still lots of ice crystals in the soil to make a sort of slush with the water, but not enough to be seen as solid bits of ice. Kinda like the roads this time of year covered in that sort of grainy snow that make the roads like driving on warm oil. That's because that grainy snow isn't really snowflakes, it's ice crystals (yes there's a difference).
