I talk with Professor Stephen Cunnane of Sherbrooke University about emerging evidence that ketones can protect neurons in the brain against dysfunction and degeneration during aging. The ability of neurons to utilize glucose as an energy source is impaired during normal aging and to a much greater extent in Alzheimer’s disease, but the neurons can still utilize ketones. In addition, ketones can activate genes that encode proteins that help the neuron withstand stress and form new synaptic connections.

Very interesting interview, thanks very much! I lost both my mom and sister to Alzheimer's, so I'm keenly following the research. And although I'm still scoring 30 (Alzheimer test), I have a definite problem with weight & chronic inflammation---this, despite eating well, IF, and exercising regularly. Whatever is underlying my metabolic syndrome (what I call it, not medically diagnosed) is a tough nut to crack, but I plan to keep trying. The alternative simply isn't an option, and besides aspects of my life like exercising at the gym with others is energizing and fun. Onwards!

Back in the early days of humans on earth, I'm guessing that there was no sugar so the development of the brains of these people over the course of many years took place with maybe exclusively a ketogenic diet and frequent fasting. Maybe this ketogenic diet was perfect for the development of the brain we have now. I am not a scientist so I'm just wondering. Good video.

I found out that taking a teaspoon of goat cream is a great way to mitigate the side effects of 30 a 40 ml of MTC oil. I also found out another way to mitigate to mitigate the side effects by taking the MTC at night. I used to take MTC when I wake up to pea. I found out that some nights I din't take the tea spoon of goat cream. Now I take 60 ml de MTC with a tablespoon of goat cream before going to bed. I sleep a lot better. I also found out that when I do intermitent fasting, do a long walk on the beach with 30 ml of MTC oil, this also help to mitigate the side effects, If on the contrary I walk the same distance on the walking machine inside, I do have diarrhea sometimes. Six months ago I had all the odds against me. I had a lot of diarrheas and my weight droped from 115 to 103 lbs and a scan showed I had dementia with a lot of athrophy when I came back to Mexico in October. I have a digital scale and I check my weight like a woman who wants to loose weight. I began to gain weight early in December as I was able to take more and more MTC. My scale indicated 118 this morning. Now my landlord tell me I cannot go back to Canada.
