One of the all-time top beautiful cars. That mini-skeg line offsets the rising shoulder and very 'fast' coupe roof line perfectly. The front grille belongs in an art museum.

I define that era by how many iridescent metallic vehicles there were on the road. Nothing like a morning full of chrome colors on each side, and then hints of late 1950's and earlier vehicles decorating with the more darker metallics and of course brighter summery palletes.

My Dad had this car in brown, with a black vinyl top, and a 428 high performance engine. It took time to learn to drive the car because the lightest pressure on the accelerator and you were burning rubber. It was heavy, wide, and low and hugged the road around turns at 85mph like a sports car. Gorgeous car. GM needs to go retro like Dodge did.

@@MrJMS814 the car was heavy, wide and low. It could navigate around curvy, two lane roads like most cars of today cannot do. We routinely drove the car on southern Missouri 2 lane highways like 19 and 68 with no problem. Granted, it was no match for the Mustang GT I now drive, but it was damn impressive.

The rear tail lights look similar to the Edsels built less than a decade earlier. The big boats of the 60s may not be everyone’s cup of tea but they sure had great looks. And as others have said here, no comparison to the bland designs of today (for the most part).

It wouldn't, once you see just how low these automobiles were, you'd be scared to change anything to make it lower. I mean my god, if you've seen most of these automobiles next to a SUV today, 70 percent longer, but dropped down so far feeling. I almost wish they were taller, the width is definitely enough in fact wider than full size SUVs today, but with such a flat literally trim feel to it, it doesn't feel as imposing.
