Back on to fixing the pontoon boat and trailer, Had to totally clean the boat all over again, moss BEES etc. The Florida pontoon boat is so much fun, I have to get this one done!
The lower unit held oil woohoo, so we continue with the project.
Pontoon Boat Trailer Tires: amzn.to/2V2TMWA
Brackets I used: amzn.to/2Ca6mX5
2 couches: amzn.to/2XTCaYE
attwood Solid Braid MFP Anchor Line with Thimble (White, 3/8-Inch x 100-Feet) amzn.to/2LPnbxe
Material for covering center console: amzn.to/2Y0BAN5
upholstery staple gun: amzn.to/2Y5MNMh
Stainless steel staples: amzn.to/2XKviBH
Johnson 40 gear case reseal kit amzn.to/2So44Ld
I must be totally insane to pick up another boat project, but I guess it's in my blood. This one is a 1989 Lowe 189 (18' 9”) with a Johnson 40hp VRO loopcharged small gearcase and a standard boat trailer (not for pontoon). It was in a super hard spot to retrieve it from too, thankfully I own a Jeep Wrangler with big tires or I would have never gotten it out of where it was! The last boat I restored was a Bayliner weekender 24 foot, I converted it from an I/O to an outboard. Cleaned it up put a lot of hours into it then nobody in my family was interested so I sold it... So why did I buy another project? I already have a SeaDoo jet boat which I totally rebuilt the engine. I also have a Seadoo Jetski SP800 that I rebuilt the engine on too. Guess I am a glutton for punishment... NAH, I just love buying cheap shit and turning it into something. Something somebody else totally gave up on and left for junk. I get a good feeling inside, it's like a quest, so long as the project is not to the point of costing a fortune over what the worth of the thing is!
Due to changing products, links, etc, If you want the most recent product links (if these are no good), go to www.motocheez.com and click the vehicle you're looking for (upper right).
This keeps the links for all the parts more accurate. These I use and install on ALL my videos. I do not sell any of the items listed.
Thanks you for watching, PLEASE subscribe!

I would check the layout of some modern poon boats. Generally they are laid out like a living room, with benches facing each other in the front area for socializing, as well as a bench or extra Captain's chairs in the back. A table of some type is usually included as well for drinks and dining. So unless you are going for a "fishing poon boat" set up (which would be kind of cool) I would say you need more benches. If going for the fishing boat, mount some fishing chairs up front for sitting in.

I checked out a few designs. I was thinking coolers as chairs that can be moved and a small folding table possibly..

That cleaned up nice cheesy! Yeah that OMC engine should work fine I would bet. I like the new layout I think it's better for you that way you got more room. I probably mount one of those Big mouth Billy Bass talking fish right in front of the captain's console. I guess I'm friends with the pontoon boat up in the mountains and they have one of those plastic garage things with the aluminum pipe? It fits right in there and it keeps it plenty nice and safe through the winter. Going to have to take it out on the lake and make a video for us! Thanks for the video it was great

#11 Not First! My brothers Pontoon had the mold too. We used soft scrub with bleach. We then use a green nylon to scrub it in and let it set in the sun for a day. Then we used 303 protectant after it was clean.

I have a pontoon boat that my cousin built for his parents. When the pontoon boat got to be too much for them, I bought it. cleaning the carpet was always "trouble" Cousin said he quit building pontoons with indoor/outdoor carpet and switched to a 7 part epoxy paint with a splatter design. 10 years later it still looks great. Hit it with a hose and it's clean. I asked cousin make me a few mods. Stip off deck catpet, spray on new 7 part epoxy paint, installed a door in the back rail and a swim platform on one pontoon with a flip out ladder step for easy boat boarding from in the water. Shim UP the sides & back walls with a quarter inch spacer for quick and easy draining while washing off the deck. Trailer winch post and Tee included steps for easy boarding while on the trailer. I kept my pontoon under a harbor freight canopy. I always thought about making a frame on the trailer to hold the canopy, Looks like your trailer already has a frame for the canopy legs. Now my cousin builds the sides out of expanded aluminum mesh. Cuts down the weight and wind load. 💛

Great progress I like the ideas. I see the new pontoon boats use a vinyl flooring. The 2018 I bought in FL has thatslt floor w the spacers lifting the tails. So boat builders progressed too.
