Thanks Austin, they've done a magnificent job on her restoration, and being such a powerful loco, is a great asset to the Railway.

Thanks Steve, it's always a pleasure to go there, and to be made to feel so welcome. Dick Lawson seen briefly on the footplate, was my Manager 25 years ago. With her finishing touches complete, 'Jessie' looks and sounds superb. Hope your day behind D6948 went well...Best wishes...Bob

Jesse was certainly shiny and I really appreciated seeing all of their other stock, but I wish you had shown those lovely carriages a bit more. I did like hearing the accents as the people spoke to you.

Now that they've given her the finishing touches, she does look quite magnificent. I have covered the Railway's Vintage Stock previously, but I'll see what I can do for you on my next visit, Thanks again for your comments.

Does the line go as far as Blaenavon Bob? Must visit again i'm missing out on these lovely sounds.....Regards Chris
@robmasterman5 жыл бұрын
The furthest North the line goes is to Whistle Inn Halt Chris, the main centre is at Furnace Sidings Just North of Blaenavon, there is a short Branch South of Furnace to Big Pit Halt, and the main route goes down to Blaenavon HL and on to Coed Avon, the current Southern Terminus of the line. Check before visiting as trains don't run every day of the week...Regards...Bob

Another enjoyable trip to 'your' mountain railway Bob, are the 37 & 31 runners, don't think I've seen them before? I used to do a lot of 'train chasing' jobs in Scotland when driving coaches, that drivers got it easy (or did he get a free ride lol).....Regards, Brian.

Thanks Brian, I love the reference to 'My Mountain Railway', I'm a member of this wonderful Railway, and they give both Mrs M and I such a warm welcome, it's an absolute joy to visit. The 37 is 37216, and it's hoped to get it back in traffic later this year. D5627 is a runner, and will be taking place in the Freight weekend next Sunday.....The Driver was a real character, originally from Ayrshire....Regards...Bob

Well it is to you what Chasewater is to me and the free publicity is always welcomed by these smaller railways. Thanks for diesel info, Brian.

Exactly Brian, at our age, it's one of the few things we can do to support them....Regards...Bob

Nice one Bob, but why have they painted those horrible black and yellow stripes on Jessie? Makes her look like a diesel shunter. Cheers, Dave.
@robmasterman5 жыл бұрын
This is the livery she wore at GKN Steel Works in Cardiff Dave, and like Diesel shunters, the stripes gave visibility in those dimly lit conditions...Regards...Bob
