That's one of the aims for Hayao Miyazaki in movie creating! It is the mom’s gesture that was entirely sweet, apart from the children’s reactions. She made them close their eyes to make a kind of a ‘magic’ trick to make it interesting for her kids! This really brings back memories when I was younger and mom would surprise me with such sweet things! Love it ❤

Ponyo is a literal masterpiece. Sosuke and Ponyo have such a sweet relationship and it captures their childish nature perfectly. As for his mom, she just radiates the most perfect motherly energy that really brings her to life.
