I can so see this being played in an animation. If I may, I wanna set the scene. A pony, his first time going to an event such as the gala, as well as his first chance at the mare of his dreams; princess Luna. He tries his best to at least talk to her, and finally, he proceeds with it. He engages in a lively conversation with her, got her to smile, and even as far as giggle at something he says and finally, this song begins to play. 'This is my chance to make a move', he thinks, and asks the princess to dance, and after a little convincing, she complies. They walk into the pairs of ponies and begin to waltz. as they proceed into the song, they begin to move with it, and put their emotion into it. It isn't long before all eyes lock onto them, and begin to applaud as the song comes to an end. She thanks him for such a good time before going and joining her sister to start the performance. It fades to black, and soon fades back in with the gala ending and the pony heading home. He goes to bed and smiles, for what he finds is Luna, and with a little explanation, he's happy she wanted to do it again some time. He comes up with an idea, a stage forms, as well as a beautiful dress for Luna and the song begins again, and as they begin their waltz once again, the animation ends, fading to black and the credits roll. If anyone would like to make this a reality, I would love to voice in it.

whenever I hear this I just imagine Luna weaving her way through the night sky- each elegant step bringing with it into existence a small yet luminous little star- Luna goes into a kind of waltz, forgetting all regality and just letting it loose. As she slowly becomes more synchronized with her steps- whole astral constellations pop in, bejwelling the night in their beauty. Finally, Luna comes to her crescendo, flying towards the moon and opening her sleek navy wings to their full length, releasing a shower of shooting stars below. A small and sleepy little filly named Twilight looks out her window, eyes widening and shimmering at the sight in front of her. Meanwhile, another pony, much more bigger but equally sleepy- a mare named Celestia, looks out her own window and just for a few magical moments, all fatigue from the days work and the pain she bore in her hooves were forgotten- as Celestia smiled. sorry got carried away there 😅 Love your song tho!!

Ponyphonic, it is unlikely you will ever see this, but thank you I can't say how much your music has helped me. I feel like Luna, constantly overshadowed by my brother, I fear trying something new for he will always do better, science, art, heck, I can't even say when I watch a new TV show because he will even get better at that then me! The point is, you music is the only place I can be free. I understand music, and although I struggle to create it, I can sit and listen to one of your songs, and that's the only place I can be free, where I can understand each instrument and count each beat. I doesn't sound like much, but I'm free because it isn't a competition to be the best, your music has really helped me in the worst of times, and you can't begin to understand how thankful I am.

Ponyphonic, if you aren't subtle in what feelings your songs instill, then I don't know who is. The song's atmosphere and effects help along what it's trying to represent, and it syncs up almost perfectly with Luna's attitude. I find it hard to think of words that would be able to describe it. Oh wow. I was able to vividly see a story unfold while listening to this song. If you are up for seeing it for yourself try this: 0:00 Introduces Luna shortly after her release from Nightmare Moon back in season 1 with the same young appearance. 0:10 We see that she is flying over the Everfree Forest near the castle ruins. 0:20 She enters the remains of her & Celestia's old castle & we see as she wanders in sadness until reaching the place where Twilight & Co. rescued her. 0:30 As Luna looks out of the shattered stained-glass window, the skies clear revealing the moon and many stars. Dust particles in the light of the moon shine with a brightness that makes the room take on a celestial appearance filled with mini stars. 0:35 Particles start touching the ground and walls and cause the area to take on a blue glow and revert to the castle's past appearance in a ghostly-blue hue. 0:40 The vast room fills with ghostly images of past ponies that appear constructed from constellations. We realise this was a ballrom as the ghostly ponies start dancing. We circle around Luna as she watches in amazement, reminiscing the past before her banishment. 1:00 Luna is tapped on the shoulder by a ghostly-constellation-colt that proceeds to bow to her as if gesturing for a dance. 1:07 Luna accepts the invitation after slight hesitation. 1:10 The two begin to dance as the camera circles around the two and slowly zooms out to reveal the entire ballroom in dance. 1:20 Luna lets the music take hold as she closes her eyes & starts dancing by herself. Luna begin to glow and becomes encapsulated in light until... 1:35 The light around Luna explodes outwards to reveal her in true flowy-mane form. Suddenly starring around, you spot a lone mare\stallion fron one of the accesible balconies. He\She's sitting and contempling the moon and the stars. His\her gaze is lost, dejected, as you before see that pony... A beautiful pony you would regret to not to ask if he\she want to dance at the rythm of this walzer... Timidly you approach it, and touch his\her shoulder with a hoof. Suddenly turns around and your eyes meet... Both smile... The Orchestra inside announces the execution of the walzer... THIS ONE! You (stamming): Wo.. Would... Y... You...? *He\She lays the right hoof on your lips and watch at you with a couple of sweet and glassy eyes, agreeing, almost pleading* *The Starlight Waltz starts* Start to dancing together, every single move is smooth and graceful, both keeping your gaze fixed on each other... Then the floor become a soft bed of clouds and all the other ponies around watching at you vanish... Also the castle vanish into thin air, replaced by a sky lit by stars and the moon that shines on you. All around you is empty and starry space... The Waltz continues and the time expands... Feel you are dancing for hours, also a strange warmth starts to growing from the insideof your chest... *Waltz comes to end* You're smilling, the unknown pony you danced with is smilling too... Love... *Romantic and gentle kiss on the last note of the waltz*

Lucie Dawé Obviously it is a waltz, yep, but that portion of the intro appears to be in 4/4; it changes back to 3/4 pretty soon after, if you notice. And yeah, I'd love to get the left hand in there, but I'm finding that bit difficult and now I've got engineering school to attend to, so if you've got the chops then have at it! I'd love a link to it if you do.

Every time I hear your music I imagine it being a part of a movie (MLP specifically but it could work with anything) This song in particular has me imagine Luna going around the castle at night very happily and starting her dream walking (which would match the sound effect at 1:33) then end with her coming out of it and seeing the sunrise. Children of the Night comes in to serve as the source of conflict between Luna and Celestia. Mid-point would be Moon Rises (the animation by Duo is pretty much how I imagine it would go) Closing act with Lullaby to be a strong emotional close. The final shot being Celestia looking up towards the moon as it pans to have just it in the shot. Within the final few notes the background goes black to have just the moon. On the final piano note the moon is replaced with "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" in white text (but still the original design of the logo). Fade out to black.
