I had a recruiting class where the overall #1 player in the country was a red gem HB with platinum side step with 98 speed 97 acceleration 95 COD with 91 juke. I took him for the stats and physicals. On signing day I found his dev was Star. He came in as an 82 overall freshman. He only had 4 total stat caps and 2 of them were on power. He hit 97 overall by his junior season and left for pro's early after winning his second Heisman.

I had an edge rusher like that in a recent class. 5 star ROLB with platinum quick jump and 86 power moves. Recruited him despite the red gem bc of platinum quick jump and was shocked he had star dev with 0-2 skill caps in each category. He’s an 84 ovr as a true sophomore and still has a lot of room to grow.

@tgc93 Run the double mug defense and use the play where you send all 6 from the line of scrimmage. Put that kid as the RRE or RLE in your depth chart, and he will be getting you 2-4 sacks a game off the edge. I've had 3 platinum/gold quick jump LB's win the Heisman by posting 30 sack seasons. That kid will go up 10 overalls in a single 30 sack season.

I was curious about this. So I ran a few run throughs of scouting a bunch a players to see what the variance of Green vs Red gem was on stat caps. Green is more likely to have less stat caps and Red is more likely to have more caps, there was a distressing amount of time where a red had less caps than a green of the same star level, position, and tendency. Between 18% and 19% over a 5 season sample. There were no elite red or normal green dev traits that I found.

Would love to see a video on how to make a balanced coaching staff. I believe the best balanced coaching staff FOR THE LONG TERM is either Motivator-focused player-coach with secondary Recruiter traits and a mix of the other two coaches being the same or being Recruiters with Motivator-heavy secondary traits, OR being a Recruiter-focused player-coach with secondary Motivator traits and the other two being Motivator-heavy coaches with secondary Recruiter traits.

I’m not for micro transactions… but I am really wishing that they give me the options to buy coach points 😂😂 I have my team (Northwestern) at a 92 and can’t go no higher because I don’t have architect… I also don’t want to make a new dynasty just so I can max out architect because I put a lot into this dynasty.. they really dropped the ball with making the coach cap out at lvl 50 🤦🏾🤦🏾

Dev Traits don’t matter at all in this game. I tested it out by having a freshman 5-star gem QB (impact dev) who won the Heisman and broke every single season record for a QB. He went up from an 82 to an 84 then stayed the same after offseason training. In the same dynasty, another team’s 3 star QB went up by 7 overall with bad season stats and normal dev. It’s completely random

I recruited a 5 star red gem WR that ended up having a star dev trait and reached 95 ovr his junior year. He had maybe 3-5 skill caps across the board. Based on this video I would assume that’s pretty rare

There are 3 important coach skills that can improve stat caps: 2 in Architect (Tier 2 and Tier 4) and 1 in CEO (Senior Superlatives). Both of the Architect skills are not great (as Poodle has pointed out before; though the T2 skill is better than the T4 skill thankfully), but CEO Senior Superlatives is massively underrated. Even at a big school, you are still going to have nearly half of your team's contributors any given year be seniors, and having ALL STAT CAPS ACROSS THE BOARD raised by one without question, and offseason training to reach those raised ceiling caps is massive for the quality of the team each year. Consider that, and a few other Motivator-adjacent line of skills for the makeup of your coaching staff. Architect T2 stat cap raiser is actually useful if you lean more Motivator with your coaching staff.

3 seasons ago I got the #1 qb and a 4 star qb, both were gems. Now that I’ve got both in their 3rd year, both have impact dev and have pretty low skill caps. I think the 5 star will cap in the mid 80s and the 4 star will cap in low 90s. Just thought that may be helpful to know it doesn’t guarantee anything crazy when they’re gems

Only time I actually take a 5 or even 4 star red gem is when I have Architect filled out how I like it to make some of those caps they game go away. Which as I keep doing more and more dynasties I’m getting to the point it might be the most important skill tree for a long term dynasty. Because there been times I have gotten 4 and 5 stars that aren’t bust or gems that come in with great stats but with multiple caps keeping them in the low to mid 80s at best.

Green gem plus above average number of dev traits for the position will generally result in star or elite players with lower caps regardless of their recruiting star rating. This is a general signal and not a hard and fast rule.

I have a 3 star normal dev cornerback that is an 84 as a redshirt sophomore. Still has lots of room to grow for power and 2 other categories. Now he did pick off 5 passes as a redshirt freshman and won defensive back of the year award. So that might have something to do with it. But this game is extremely half baked with a ton of bad bugs. Almost to the point that it is still unplayable. I'll give them benefit of the doubt and say they built in some randomness when it comes to player development.

When you go to position changes create a new save file , name it training, and save scum the process until you get the training results you want The gym system is borderline meaningless. I have had regular 3 star prospects go from high 60s to 80 ovr, and then with the same save file did it again and the same player not progress at all

Don’t call repetive plays against CPU, the AI begins to play it. Jet sweeps are good against cpu, running the ball. It alls comes with practice, you will learn quickly that certain routes/plays just won’t ever work against the CPU.

Quick Questions if anyone can help. What is the difference in the interest bar for each school the solid color or the faded color on the bar that follows. Also, does having a good season help at all. I won the defensive back player of the year award and the year after his rating didn't go up at all compared to other players on my roster.

The solid color is the interest you have, the faded is the interest you accrued through actions/pitches/etc. Yes, it does bc they will get XP and skill points. It’s up to the player to use the points tho automatically.

For a game that has over 2k actual charcaters? Uve seen that "alani pouha" in every one of my dynasties.. literally... EVERY ONE.. seeing his on this video just dropped my confidence in this game getting better with updates... they didnt even put in time to prevent doubles smfh..
