A couple of tips: - the ghost usually stays in one room - saying the ghost's name pisses it off, and should only be used as a last resort - 5 minutes (on Amateur difficulty, 2 on Intermediate, 0 on Professional) after first stepping into the house, the ghost might get get pissed off and a so called "hunting phase" might start. During that phase, the ghost becomes a lot more agressive, and a lot more eager to get out of its room and kill people. - on some maps, a ouija board can spawn. You can activate it with left click, which lights it up. After lighting up, you can speak to it, and it should give responses. Warning: this is a hella bad idea -the EMF reader picks up signals from locations and items the ghost recently interacted with (eg. Light switches, doors, items it has thrown) - the UV lamp lights up the ghost's fingerprints on items it has interacted with - the black camera can be activated with right click, left click rotates it, and F places it on objects. After activating it, you can go inside the truck to watch its feed. This is used to find Ghost Orbs (little glowing balls of light that fly around the screen)

I remember seeing that when a ghost goes into hunting it becomes more eager to kill, so the play must hide in a closet or locker and turn off their light and hide.

The timer is how long you have before a ghost CAN hunt, not a "guaranteed hunt start" timer. It's 5 minutes on Amateur, 2 Minutes on Intermediate, and 0 on Professional. If the ghost immediately started hunting on Pro, it would be impossible. The timer helps identify "shy" ghosts on lower difficulties because they give very few clues and don't respond right away.

When your flashlight starts to flicker this is called a hunting phase, the ghost will chase anyone it sees and will kill them. Only one person can die during this phase. On amateur difficulty it hunts for 30 or 40 second I can remember. On professional it hunts for 50. Hiding tips: hide it closets, rooms and if all else fails find a table that isn't up a wall and play ring around the rosie with the ghost. When hiding in a closet or room make sure to close the door. If it is a wraith then just pray because those pieces of crap can walk through walls. Good hunting
