"why don't you take it out?" if you ever get impaled, the item that impales you plugs up the wound (mostly/somewhat) and internal wounds. removing it is bad. you WILL bleed out. real life, if that ever happens, the best thing you can do is cover up the wound and stabilize the object. do not remove it. wrap a fk ton up cloth around it tightly making sure not to jiggle it around as you do and obviously call 911.
