Thank you !!! We used them as an elevated stage / aasanas for each of the idol. Our Shivling is made of regular black stone which we brought from a temple.

Sure you can. But there are certain things to be aware of. Prana Pratishta (giving life) to the murti has to be done by a priest. Keeping a murti is different from keeping portraits since you are giving life to the murti. So you have to at minimum do its basic daily rituals which are Pancha upachara Puja ( 5 item prayer ) Offering of Water, Doopa (incense stick) , Pushpam (flower) , Neivedyam (any fruit will do), Deepam (light).

Thank you!! Mandir size is roughly 3 ft (l) X 1 ft (b) X 1.5 ft(h). We brought Tulsi idol from Kalyan jewellers.
