Hey, Chris, this is John so pumped I won a new cue! I've never heard of a drag shot before. But certainly, need to practice this, I've lost games playing this shot wrong and leaving me a tough bank or cut shot. Keep up the great work.

Thanks Chris for these videos. I'm above average when it comes to bar going folk but every now and then I run into guys that are semi legit and can make me look dumb or toy with me. I get the feeling that they know I'm not as good as they are and that they could run the table if I mess up. So I'm calling for backup to hone my skills beyond just the geometry and instinct. You explain things very well and this is super helpful to help me put up a fight and possibly win!

Good action draw Like the medium Speed draw will take the cue ball to direction 3x the original angle. Point the cue in straight line with the object balls ghost ball that is heading to the pocket. Then measure the cue ball - object ball angle and add two more exact angles to the direction the cue ball is heading and you are pretty close the truth where cue ball will head in draw shot. When the distance rises it also comes very difficult to estimate the path because you have to pound the ball hard enough to maintain the draw

I appreciate the way you explain each training video, I have been taught by many different level shooters and you bar far are very clear and understandable. I use draw on many shots and I am told by all but one player not to use so much draw. I enjoy the position game and realize how effective it can be when applied correctly. I have made mistakes but have gotten much better with when, where and how to work with the draw, your video will be very helpful on my continued use

Nice work!! I really like that you explain that you can't really learn to play pool without putting hours in training. Keep up the great work 👌👌

hey Chris love the videos. you are teaching alot of things about pool. my question is I am learning that the distance from the stick and the cue makes a difference on how the cue ball works. i dont remember if you said anything about that in the video.if I am wrong I'm sorry, just thought you might explain if I missed it. thank you for what you do in pool, it's helping me a lot watching you.
@LilChrisPoolPlayer4 жыл бұрын
I'll eventually explain that in a "Power Draw" video. The shorter distance between bridge hand and cue ball plays a factor in executing a "good" draw shot, because it naturally allows for a longer follow through.

I'm curious about your Diamond table choice over that of a good used 9' Gold Crown III or other versions? The Diamond as you know is a top tier table with a claim to fame of having an uber short setup / dismantle time cycle; not much else. Not mocking any Diamond owners, simply asking about the choice over one or the other. .. Cheers, M/S

In the last example, why not use center cue and control with power(or lack of)? It works either rail first or second. A soft smooth stroke can be quite useful. I use speed control as much as top/bottom spin to work for the position. I've won lots of beers this way. My opponent strikes overly hard and tries to use excessive side spin for control(I guess to impress beginners).
@LilChrisPoolPlayer5 жыл бұрын
Mark D Though you’re not wrong, what you’re describing is not “drag shot” and a “drag shot” is what I wanted to demonstrate.

@bsdiceman11 ай бұрын
so the harder you hit a cut angle shot with consistent bottom spin, the further along the tangent line path it will travel before being drawn back off by the backspin? also can you address how different cut angles, from glancing shot to almost full face shots create different cue ball paths depending on top spin, slide or bottom spin?
@seancollins97455 жыл бұрын
One thing left out here is that tip diameter really alters applied English, it is much easier to use apply English with a smaller diameter tip, however aim becomes more critical as the smaller diameter tip makes accuracy harder.
@Spurs2k232 жыл бұрын
Moved up to a 5 since watching you and Tor's vids, and have been winning 90% of my matches as a 5 beating 6's and 7's pretty comfortably over the last 2 sessions. My control has gotten a much needed improvement, but for the life of me.....I can never draw from very far. The cue ball always seems to drag (not roll) across the tables when it makes contact hence doesn't do much after shot is made (pretty much dies or moves an inch or two).....still trying to figure out why cue ball seems to skid for my draw shots when at a distance
@LilChrisPoolPlayer2 жыл бұрын
It sounds like you're describing drawing from long shots? Do you have a problem drawing the CB far on shorter shots? If your issue is with long shots, only 2 things come to mind: 1. You're not hitting low enough on the CB. 2. You're not hitting fast enough. If you think you're hitting low enough, try an make ABSOLUTE sure that you're not accidently coming up due to fear of miscuing. If you're not hitting fast enough, that's just practice.
@Spurs2k232 жыл бұрын
@@LilChrisPoolPlayer Yeah short draws are ok, dont have much trouble most of the time, but anything from half table length, it becomes a problem. Might be a mental thing as you mentioned of being afraid to miscue with so much more power needed

Hey Chris. I have just stumbled across your channel very recently, and I find your videos very informative. I was wondering what effect would the cue ball have if you were playing a cut shot in which the object ball was up against the cushion, and using draw spin? Also, could you explain the cue ball effects of using bottom left and bottom right spins? I would like to learn this. Thanks.
