Pool Renovation Finale; Replaster is done, with a bit of bad news.

After a few months of demolition, crack repair with torque-lock metal staples, chipping out ALL of the old plaster, having new tile installed, the pool decking refinished and stained, it was finally time for new plaster. This video is a timelapse of that process with a summary at the end that explains a new problem I found.

What did you have to do after you put the water into the pool? There’s a special treatment? I want it to do it on my own!!

Once the water is in, thats it. I did raise the total alkalinity and the calcium hardness to the upper range of what the manufacturer says to. Theres a schedule you follow for adding chlorine and all that, depending on what type of plaster you choose.

Did you replace the concrete apron around the pool? Looks new, but I recall your video of you leveling it.

@@marvhill301 we had the plaster guys resurface it and stain it but it’s the same raised decking from the other video. They just trowel on a thin coating of cement and then spray another layer on with a texture gun and then knock the texture down just like drywall. Then roll on the stain, which looks more like a paint than a stain.
