When in Manilla last year at Johann Chua's Cue Spot, even the janitor/ gopher was making this on Johann's personal practice table, and from far more of a backwards angle (over a diamond on the long cut). Tor, thank you a million times over. I banked a 12 ball from the 40/20 to the side pocket, by using 18 with a hard hit and no english. Efren Bata Reyes left me deep in the corner pocket, as well. It's on my page if you want to see it. Thank you for changing my game. I make 2 rail kicks regularly now, too.

I use that method to cut balls in quite often. And when you play on crappy bar tables each one is much different then the other so getting speed down can be a challenge and you often over run or under run shots leaving these terrible what most say impossible shots to make lol.

Why the backspin tho?

When striking the cue ball low you're slightly changing the angle the cue ball is coming into the rail at - as opposed to center with sidespin. This has to do with the angle of the cue striking the cue ball below center.
