@~3:00 While not glass *plates,* over here in Germany we do have dispensers acting as sort of a tiny store-front for local farmers. Part of the stuff you can get are glass jars, they don't fall though, if you select a product, a cushioned lift actually gets right to the height of the product, only then is it released and the lift goes back down so you can take your stuff. So, could very well have been such a thing provided those actually would have been plates XD
