While it's true that Anna shouldnt have made up all those lies, it's hard not to sympathize her when she is deprived of opportunities just because of her poor background when it's evident that she has the diligence, intelligence, work ethic, etc that should make her successful. If she was a lazy, talentless character that relied solely on deception for social mobility, maybe she doesnt deserve any of it. But it's unfair that despite her capability, she was held back because of the prejudice of society, and born into the wrong family. Even after she became wealthy though, she still took care of her mother, showing thatbshe wasn't a bad person.

I get what you mean but Yumi lied to her aswell. Of course her job as a journalist and natural curiosity buffed that fact but Yumi and her are supposed to be close friends from years. Someone you thought you knew fabricated lies and blatantly exposed them to many people faces. She was betrayed as well. I think this one drama has no particular villain or hero/heroine. Even the woman that blackmailed and later killed, had her reasons even if her actions are bad. Desperation, sadness, angry, envy... that can make you irrational and commit many errors. Just like Yumi or Anna made at the beginning, stealing from her. Anyway, this made me remember the devil wears Prada besides inventing Anna. Thanks for the summary! I watched it months ago and completely forgot some of the scenes!

I think things in South Korea are much different than in many other countries when it comes to education and higher status qualification. To succeed like Yumi wanted one should be admitted to one of SKY universities which is a once a lifetime opportunity to the point that during the exam day the entire country is in lockdown. She wanted more, considerably more hence she went that far.

This is very similar to Leonardo’s movie catch me if you can. Except for his movie, people are rooting for him and say good things. But for this one, because she’s a woman, people call her gold digger. To be able to faking it like that needs skills and confidence. I would never do that because I can’t pull it off.
