The value of paying a guy elite QB money is success in the playoffs, not regular season stats. Dallas making the playoffs with Dak is a moot point, cause his performance goes off a cliff when he gets there. They need a new plan at some point. They have plenty of talent around him.
@smudgeous40683 ай бұрын
It doesn't matter how good the team around him is when half the team is wearing street clothes in January. Miami had 177 missed games due to injury, not counting games where players left early. Weeks 14-16, 4 starting offensive linemen were all out injured at the same time. The next 2 weeks he got a blocker back but lost Waddle+Mostert, and the defense was missing all of its edge rushers and half of its secondary. He had half of one game with a fully healthy line and only 3 other games with 4 starting linemen, and the team averaged like 550 yards per game (1 game over 720 yards, 2 games over 520 yards, 1 game at 389 yards). @smudgeous4068 I am not a Patriots fan but I am totally surprised that top-tier Qb's refuse to look at the way Brady went to TEN SuperBowls. All that 💩 you went on about may have SOME merit, but in the end, the more talented a team is, the better its chances of winning the big game are. You can't build the most talented team if you're paying 2/3 of the team cap to a few players.
@smudgeous40683 ай бұрын
@@PastarocketS-sb7nk Tua's average per year is $47.1m since it reworked his remaining final year of his existing contract. If you subtract that from the 2024 salary cap of $255.4m, you're left with $100k more than the entire 2022 salary cap after paying him, and each year that cap will grow larger. Josh Allen's contract was a much larger hit relative to cap percentage at the time he signed his. My point remains accurate though.. injuries can derail any team, no matter how good. Just a few injuries to the O-Line ahead of the Super Bowl was enough to make Mahomes incapable of scoring 10 points with a healthy prime Kelce and Hill to throw to. If Miami's offensive line starters played 19 games together like Buffalo's did while Buffalo's line had the injuries that Miami did, Miami would have finished #1 or #2 in the conference with the exact same roster they had last year. Edit: even comparing apples to apples, Miami's 3 best blockers (Armstead, Williams, Hunt) missed 4/0/0 games in 2022, playing together 14 games total. This season they managed 2 halves of 2 games, 10 weeks apart. In both of those games Miami won by 30+ and Tua ended with a ludicrously high 89.9 QBR

If you put Dak in Jacksonville after being the worse team in the league two years in a row, do you think he turns that franchise around and makes them relevant?
