POOR MARINETTE! || Miraculous Ladybug Reaction || DERISION || Season 5 Episode 14

It doesn't happen very often, but sometimes Adrien acts like his father's son. He got really angry in defence of Marinette, and almost catacylsmed Kim. Everything Gabriel does is for Emilie. Also that cold dismissal of Chloe at the end is very Gabriel.

@@Reactions.Addict I'm guessing he won't become like his dad, Gabriel had always thought that Adrien's personality is more like his mom Emilie, and it may also played a part as to why Gabriel treats Adrien the way he does, Adrien's birth was a miracle, but since he had learned most of how to behave from his mom within the 5 years he spent with her, Adrien turned out to be more like his mom in terms of his personality. Unfortunately he reminded Gabriel too much about Emilie, and it just doesn't really help that Gabriel had been buried in his own grief when Adrien's entire being is reminding him of what he had lost years ago.

Being kind and sweet is Adrien's entire character, he's just the kind of person you see in everyday life that rarely snaps at people. But from my own experience, one of the most scary things that can happen in your life is also when someone who's always kind and sweet completely snaps and trying to claw your eyes out in the process because those people usually have pretty good control of their own actions, you have to really fuck up in some way for them to hold a death threat above your face. Also, really clap for Adrien as he broke his friendship with Chloe, but I always get the sense that it's going to happen long before this show is over because Adrien always looks uncomfortable when Chloe gets really close to him, but he's just way too polite to tell her no. And Chloe isn't really his friend in a sense, he's shown that he's uncomfortable in her presence and had also said he's used to cleaning up after her, like I will never say that about someone I really consider my friend. He keeps Chloe around as he's a nice person and as he had told Chloe that he thought being nice, genuinely nice to people wasn't that hard on top of their childhood connection, but all Chloe had shown him is that all she cares about is herself, she doesn't really care that Adrien have other friendships that he wants to keep, she doesn't care about the people that he cares about, she takes joy in other people's suffering, and had aimed all of that energy at the people he consider his friends. I really appreciate this show showing signs of a character having PTSD, yes it's not very often for a "kid's show" to show serious topics like this, and I really love how Adrien deals with it later. PTSD patients are often being blamed on by their automatic responses to events that may make them remember the cause of their disorder, but people seldom offer a hand to them and just tell them "I will help you work through this one day at a time." I'm not saying what Marinette did was okay, it wasn't okay for her to stalk Adrien the way she did, but PTSD is a serious issue, the patients of this disorder will be more sensitive, their responses to perceived danger may not be accurate as it may be heightened. PTSD explained her behaviors but does not excuse it, what's more important is how you work through it, and PTSD patients really need that gentle nudge, that reassurance that you're safe with them for them to start working on getting their responses to fear back to normal levels. With that said, what Adrien did after they fought Dark Humor is really mature, as now he understood what had caused it, he immediately offered to help Marinette work through it, PTSD patients absolutely don't need people constantly telling them what they did was wrong, it will just make them spiral out of control. It's easy to say what they did is wrong and point accusing finger at them when you're not the one experiencing what they're experiencing when such responses are triggered. And even when the event that leading up to people developing this disorder is similar, the way their fear and danger responses work afterwards will be different, some people will have responses like the ones Marinette has, or they may just avoid the situation entirely, it depends on the person. Also, PTSD often needs a trigger in order for the patients to remember why they jumpstart the responses to fear at certain moments. The trigger needed may not always be present, and to the people who said Marinette acted normal around Chloe, remember that Chloe had been constantly bullying Marinette before the traumatic event, so much so that Marinette didn't really expect her to change, this is why she acted comparatively normal around Chloe but her PTSD got triggered when the combination of Kim at the pool and she's on a date with a nice boy as that was the same as her traumatic memory---Kim at the pool and a nice boy with her, the only difference being that now Adrien is the nice boy with her, but it is too close to her own traumatic memory and just like that, a fear and danger response is being triggered despite the fact that this time Adrien genuinely cares about Marinette and her wellbeing. Kim does apologize to Marinette afterwards, he had thought of it as a prank but had also come to realize that it had gone too far, but being the kind of person he is, sometimes you really have to push that on him for him to understand. Also, Adrien had always liked Marinette as shown by the signs in the previous seasons, he just doesn't want to face the truth until Marinette got really close to him, it may seem like he claimed that he fell in love with her after she pecked him on the lips thinking he's a statue, but the truth is he had fell in love with Marinette ever since he had given her his umbrella, he's just constantly denying it until Season 5.

This episode finally gave us a reason as to why Marinette sometimes acts the way she does.. and that's true.. sometimes things that happen in the past can shape as to how someone can act in the future.. I just wish they would've talked about this sooner.. like in season 3 or something because this is like before season 1 and we are at season 5.. we are very far ahead, and since this is so far into the past I feel like we should've learned about this sooner.. I am glad that this was the push that Adrien needed to stop being friends with Chloe, I bet everyone is going to be proud of him.. Chloe is a broken character but she herself chose to be bad, because she has such a high ego that she puts above everything else.. she had potential but she through it all away when she couldn't be a hero anymore.. her being surrounded by an enabling father and a neglectful mother doesn't really help either, so we can't really blame Chloe for being the way that she is.. She's grown up being spoiled, so that's all she knows.. and sometimes that can't be changed.. so I am glad Adrien cut her off. Kim is such a goofball, he is so naïve and he likes to be happy and laugh so of course Chloe exploited that and since Kim doesn't have any common sense, he followed through.. hopefully he does fully change.. Chloe rejected him in season 1 and she even bullied him in the Dark Cupid episode so hopefully he gets better.. Adrien and Ondine was right to be pissed and angry and I am glad that Marinette overcame her trauma.. it's crazy that Marinette nearly got akumatized two times.. This was an amazing reaction.. Well done 🤩

Fun fact: - Marinette wore 2 pigtails because of socqueline. Since she used to be her protector and also just to remember her too. - 40:20 also sabrina definietly question at this point now too that, "why do i friends with her in the first place" cuz her look really said it all.

The next episode is kind of a break from the crazy plot of s5 but every episode starting from ep 16 until the finale is insane and filled with a lot of different emotional scenes and surprises. Yay new reaction :DD I relate to this ep espically this part tho: ● There's bullies who constantly picked on me and took any advantage to hurt me and my feelings, it took me 10 years to finally escape those tho... (some of them changes and apolagized to me and some of them still the same but way worse) - One of the teacher in my school (kinda somehow side with another student) like.. she used to defend me from bully before during in grade 9 but she somehow thought i behave bad all of the sudden.. and didnt even think of listening of what i been through like wtf.. other teacher in grade 9 kinda listen to me and that teacher who side with student used to be my fav tho but she doesnt even let me a chance to explain at all ._.

@@Reactions.Addict but yeah dont worry, around that time during grade 9 i actually manage to make a friend who help me to gain more confident just to stand up for myself tho and the best memories during that year probably the fact that is the bully tried to do something at my new friend too but he smacked the living heck on the back of that guy head so hard (just to show that dont mess with him).. it was really good memories ever tho XDD but yeah the best part is that ever since grade 10, i felt more free than i ever felt before tho, since that bully move to the other school and doesn't continue the same school anymore :DD (till this day i glad that i ended up became friends with him tho and we have like 4 years of strong friendship)

This was probably the most nonsensical episode to exist in miraculous. We have seen Marinette help Kim out in dark cupid, and seh evn felt bad for him when Chloe humiliated him. After that he STOPPED simping for Chloe and went out with that syren girl instead. It literally makes no sense that he would start simping for chloe again. And also, can we talk about how after so many years of 'not regretting' his actions towards Marinette, all of a sudden at the end of the episode he accepts that he did? This was a poor attempt to make us sympathize with Marinette and nothing else

If you liked thos episode, I've nothing against your opinion. It belongs to you and I won't try to change it, nor bash it. However, this is one of the worst episodes ever made in the show. There areso many plot holes, retcons, inconsistencies, application of double standards specifically on Marisue and Chloe, further character assassination for Chloe and also Kim, who was pretty much a neutral character upto now. If a backstory tries to make awareness about something while also raising retcons, plotholes, inconsistencies, a finishing blow which destroys its purpose, and more significantly tries to justify criminality, then that's a TERRIBLY written backstory. And this episode deserves an Oscar for that

Thank you 🙏🏼 I appreciate your respect ❤️ Although to me this episode isn’t the worst, I wouldn’t say it’s the best either lol and I agree with you in some parts. Definitely this episode’s plot hole came out of the blue and there were some inconsistencies with how Marinette only now started having panic attack even though she’s been to the pool and been with Kim before. I do like how this episode explains more on why Marinette does what she does with Adrien and why she knows so much about him. And showed us an entire flashback with Marinette in 8th grade. In the end it’s just an episode and a cartoon lol :)
