If im not mistaken those monsters dont predict the future, but they sense the flow of the Curse, related to how Nanachi showed with the blanket. I feel like the black whistle would tell Ozen on his way up and she would tell him to keep quiet about the 'robot boy' to ppl

Yeah the orbed piercer can see the "Curse cloth" and just Reg thinking about moving up made the cloth move up. The orbed piercer saw that the cloth was moving up and went to intercept but then Nanachi told reg to move to the right without reg thinking about it. So there was no cloth movement as reg didn't think about it so the Orbed piercer couldn't predict that movement.

19:38 Probably because you never know whether you're really alone or not. There might still have been some other cave rider nearby that the Black Whistle guy was unaware of. So I presume that the procedure is to blow your whistle while in danger, to warn other potential cave riders nearby about the danger so that they could stay away from it.
