unlike a modern Trek, your Trek has a soul! Nice build!

Gorgeous bike. Can't believe I stumbled upon this gem with all the junk on my home page.

The old lugged Treks kick ass. I have an early 80s 720 that I built up for touring. Nice setup.

Great build. I‘m so happy to see all the old 26“ bikes come back to live either with gravel bars or uncle Ron’s orthopedic style. To build a bike you like😊

Love it. I adore the lugged Trek mountain bikes from the late 80s and early 90s. I did a similar "swept bar" treatment to my bright red '93 GT Karakoram, just with all black parts and Deore DX thumbies.

Nice work my dude! I've got an old lugged Trek hardtail, same era, hanging in the loft of my garage. I think I'll follow your lead on this one. Thanks for the inspiring build!

Great build with great components. That headset and handlebar alone make this a good bike. I don't know enough about bike geomotry to judge how close this is to a Riv, but I'm sure this is just as great a gravel/rando/packing hybrid as the real deal. And It's so unique. That's really YOUR bike, there's likely no second like it.

Sweet ride! Just needs a Rapid Rise derailleur to be Grant Grouchy.

Sweet, I was ready for 'click bait', but this bike is the opposite of that. Super Joe & a Lovely Bike!

I worked at a Trek & Schwinn dealer in the early 90’s. The Trek 900 series were very nice bikes. I couldn’t afford one so I admired them from afar 😊

Picked up a 950 2 years ago for $50 with 2004 marzocchi bomber and stx rc components

Nice! I looked it up and a Trek 950 was $640 in 1992. Converted to today’s money that’s like $1,400.

There's really no need to call any bike as a "poorman's" stuff...I mean, if you love riding it, then it's golden...don't really have to care what other people would say.

Why are your cables left so long? Great paintjob.
@hammeredscout8 ай бұрын
I find that when you mount a Handlebar bag like Ronsbikes or Swift Industries bag the cables will lay down easier and not bind up under the weight of the bag. That's what I notice works for me.
@Primifluous8 ай бұрын
@@hammeredscout Sorry, I meant the cable ends on the rear and front derailleur.

So let’s get this straight , rivendale copy 80s bikes and you are doing a copy of a rivendale doing a copy and think it’s a poor man’s copy. Got it .
