The copper sulphate is very easy to dissolve and take care of, just add heat bring it to boil and filter. You are left with your silver and other PM’s in the filter and a clean solution that will recrystallize as it cools to room temp, to get the most to come out you can set the beaker in an ice bath for a couple hours or an igloo lunch box to keep the ice from melting. The solubility of copper sulphate in water is high 2033g/liter which is 5x more than table salt in water. You can store the crystals for use in your copper cell or convert to copper metal with aluminum at a ratio of about 1g aluminum precipitating 3-4g of copper metal.

Awesome information! I will be posting a short video tomorrow on the crystal clean up. The water boiling water does work very well

Wow, Cody, you have a fast reaction time. HAPPY BIRTHDAY early. I'm glad you had dad and baby time. Have you ever watched AK Gold Bear? I think he worked on this as well.

I new there was going to be a reaction coming just was a little stronger than I expected lol 🤣

Will be trying the HCL method! Thank you

Its really not bad!

HCL and a nitric is going to get you closer to aqua regia. Sulfuric and a nitric will get you closer to nitric acid.
@SilverStoll8 ай бұрын
Yuppers. As of right now I'm liking it for the contacts.

If you are not dealing with gold that would be the way to go, Maybe before going to finish with nitric do a slight wash with ammonia to wash off the silver chloride. Then a few washes with water.@@SilverStoll

I did a 10 gram batch with 25 ml nitric, yielded 6.8-6.9 grams. Thought i was under on nitric but they all dissolved. I think doing a large batch is going to be rough. Happy birthday!

Very nice! Did you have most of the base metals removed?
Dusan 999 combines hcl and nitrate boils then covers the contacts
@SilverStoll8 ай бұрын
AP works really well to remove copper. This is just faster.

Have you ever made your own HNO3 with the potassium nitrate and sulfuric? Very easy to do and can yield either 70% +- or fuming 90%+-. I've done a few hundred mL and diluted to refine my silver as it's cheaper to make with no shipping.

I have not! I have the set up just need to get after it.

First time seeing your videos, I had to comment on the "Stoll" part of your username, is that your name? Just wondering because it's mine Although there were many that took the name when leaving that part of Germany, a lot were related Wondering if you are a cousin or something 🤔 Anyways, i liked the content
@SilverStoll8 ай бұрын
My grandfather on my dad's side was Dutch. It used to be Stol, but there was an issue when they arrived and it never changed back lol I have thought about it for a while to take it back to the roots lol

@@SilverStoll from what I was told, there is a castle in Germany with a villa, there are so many people I keep coming across with this, it's pretty cool I think it would be a great idea to reclaim the name😁 Sometimes it's fun looking up all the inventors and engineers with our name, like Arthur Stoll has a patent with Albert Hoffman, rather famous chemists (well, depending who you ask😂) Even though I am obviously biased, it is a great name; having another return to the circle would be an honor 😁
@SilverStoll8 ай бұрын
I will have to look into that! Is it Stol or Stoll?

Lol using those material makes it. You can distill just the nitric however if you wanted to. I may make a video on that one of these days lol
