Such practical, applicable fixes. These are great parts and I can't wait to see what other items they come up with. So many toys that can be saved with fan made parts. Thanks for making us aware of these types of fan made items.

I love 3D printing and the literal heroes that are making vintage replacement parts. There is an ebay seller from germany (if i recall) that sells MOTU leg joint replacements. They're a silicone-type rubber that's stronger than the original rubber joint... and tighter so they can actually stand on their own feet! Love it. I sound like I'm advertising it but it's amazing stuff people are making. Like recently I got a 2nd left arm for Spikor that someone custom made because the original figure just has a staight arm with an extending weapon when on the box art he's holding what appears to be a trident. So he made a purple arm with a hand that holds a silver trident to match the original design.

Talk about fortuitous timing. I'm currently re-piecing/restoring my Terror Drome. This is super helpful and thanks for posting! These replacement pieces are a huge help. Now, I can take my funds and overspend on the replacing the two large turret bases for the top deck! Wooo!

@@creativeaudio69 , they aren't broken, I just don't have them anymore! I've been slowly piecing it back together. I missed out on a few that were what I considered a reasonable price, some are up there, and beyond the Joe-Budget. But, its like a treasure hunt to a degree. I keep looking around, and find some good deals every now and then.

Another fantastic video, Michael. Thank you. I am in the middle of a TerrorDrome restoration and it's been a heartbreaking process -- especially with those doors. I can't move the thing without all of them falling off or apart. Makes it completely unplayable. Had no idea this option was out there, and I will be making a purchase soon. You are absolutely right. The fans are doing the best work.

4:09 My Dad somehow soldered my broken wing together and it's still holding strong 40 years later. If memory serves me right he used the leftover molds from a model. It's not a pretty repair but unless you take the X-wing apart you'll never see it.
@awandererfromys1680
@awandererfromys1680 3 жыл бұрын
Sounds like an old model maker's trick: you put the spruces the parts came on in a solvent to make a plastic putty which can be used for filler, modifications and repairs. You can do some great stuff with that, I've been using it for years to repair cracked or loose Lego minifigures.

I collect vintage Star Wars toys and really enjoy the cleaning and repairing videos of these relics!😂. On a side note I personally enjoy the other toy lines as well because growing up I was the die hard Star Wars collector and my brother was GI Joe. We both also collected Transformers (your favorite 😂) and Masters Of The Universe on the side. Keep up the great work Michael!

I watched this and went to the link and tried to buy this brillant Terror Drome part from Pop Culture Emporium. Unfortunately I have not been able to complete the sale through their website. It seems there is a glitch when it gets to the shipping method at check out (Keeps asking for package cubic feet, or preferred shipping method with no option or commands) It will not let me get past this point and puts you in the website circle not let me complete the sale. I've tried over multiple days to see if it would resolve. Tried different computers and browsers. Looked to see if they sold it on other sites. I tried emailing them to let them know the problem but I haven't gotten a response. I tried calling, no one answers and VM box is full. Has anyone else had this problem lately? Are they still in business? I'm not sure how else to get this part or contact them.
