i think the bella video was added because her mom is “known” to give her children very little food on camera and make them eat very small portions of food and so her expressing that she loves and eats food all the time would make her mom “mad”

fr with the pronoun thing! i respect they/them pronouns, of course but people have got to understand that we all aren’t mind readers too. i remember commenting on someone’s post saying “she’s really pretty” and they got SO mad at me for that cause their pronouns were they/them and i didn’t check their bio. i understand that i referred to them wrongly, but they could’ve politely corrected me. who tf expects people to be checking their page for pronouns? one thing i will not stand by is them NeoPronouns though. never in my life am i going to call someone kitty/kittyself 💀

@DCM idk if she did it for attention, I'm neither a fan of her or a hater of hers, however I completely disagree that she was doing it for attention JUST BECAUSE she went back on it. If you tell people your pronouns and they disrespect/attack you for it, you're likely to go back on it. Multiply that by hundreds of thousands, I can imagine it to be a lot easier for you to just go back on it. Especially since she was getting misgendered by a vast majority of people anyway. She may have done it for attention of course, I've seen her do some crazy stuff, but I don't think you can say that JUST because she went back on it after being attacked online about it.

i'm not gonna fight or argue with someone about pronouns like i'll use them and try to adjust when talking to that person but i do find it a litle unneccesary at times? like there's no right way to be a girl or a boy, you can be who you want without being non-binary in my opinion. i think maybe it's to fight the gender expectations society put on them but instead of combating that, they just make a new thing and try and distance themselves away from whatever is expected of them like... the gender roles and expectations still exist ya'll- nothing's changed !
@ActuallyAnanya
@ActuallyAnanya 2 жыл бұрын
NB identities have nothing to do with gender presentation though. Someone could dress hyper-feminine or hyper-masculine and still be NB, just like how a woman can dress super butch masc and still be a woman. Look up the hijra community in India, they are legally recognised as a third gender and that's how they refer to themselves despite the majority being AMABs with feminine gender presentation, and they have been a part of the culture for thousands of years.
@artlate1867
@artlate1867 2 жыл бұрын
@@ActuallyAnanya oh yeah! i know about other cultures having a third gender, there's one in the philippines that i know of the name escapes me but they had roles in society and are regarded highly so yeah i do see instances of it around he world. but in the western world idk guess i just have to ask like if you're born female, present female and dress hyper feminine, why identify as non binary? idk i don't see the point to that
@ActuallyAnanya
@ActuallyAnanya 2 жыл бұрын
@@artlate1867 because it's about an innate feeling, not presentation. Gender is not the same as sex to begin with, so what you're born as is wholly irrelevant. It's the difference between the internal and the external. You wouldn't ask a butch tomboy woman why she doesn't just identify as a trans man, because gender identity and presentation are divorced concepts. Pronouns are also part of presentation and can be divorced from presentation or linked to it as one pleases.

As a nonbinary human being, gender identity can change a lot especially in people in a public setting because they have to go through the change in front of a million people. Rather then figuring it out on your own. The way you are responding to this is extremely harmful . Yes you are entitled to your opinions but you do not have to be disrespectful about it especially when you are also in the public eye. It is a journey and we have to figure it out along the way. I understand that it can be confusing for you to call somebody a different pronoun, or name, but it's just as confusing to us while going through our journey and we have to test it out to see what feels right and makes us feel like us. Just bare with us we aren't trying to make it hard for yall we just want to be happily us and gotta figure out what it means for us

3:32 yeah i'm not fully disagreeing, i don't think it's wrong to switch especially if someone's figuring it out, but i see no reason for such hostility if someone accidentally mispronouns (like if they haven't seen the person changed them etc;) UNLESS they keep doing it after they're aware of the fact, not really sure why pronouns are so hard for people to comprehend

I disagree. You can't just invalidate something just because that's not how you feel/felt before. If Demi now added she/her to her pronoun is because she feels that way and it is valid. It also isn't difficult to comprehend, thats like if someone tells you their name but prefers you call them by their nickname.

Who are "we"? Lol I do not care what people choose to identify as in this life as long as its not harming others. That is not my business. I respect people's choices. My sibling is non-binary but doesn't care about being misgendered while their partner cares a lot. Who am I to to tell them how to identify? I call them what they want to be called. I'd be upset if someone called me a "man" when I'm a cis woman. It's the same thing. Respect.
